I went out to Fish Island in Saint Augustine today. There isn't any houses out there and even though it is an island I drove onto it. I wanted to get a picture of a nesting eagle...no luck. But I got some pictures. Terry  The eagle nest. I could get my arms ALMOST 1/2 way around the tree!  Close up of the nest.  Just pic of the trail.

Nice pictures to bad the Eagle was shy. In the summer I see them a couple times a year,but never the nest. But like snowbirds the Eagles have flow south  now.

True, most of the eagles that winter here are here already. We have quite a few around the county. Terry |

BTW, that tree that the nest is in, I couldn't even get my arms 1/2 way around the trunk! A lot of the trees on the island are very old. There was a house on it back in the 1700's and up to the 1860's. None after that. Terry |
