Top of Pikes Peak (outside of Colorado Springs)- paved or semi paved - close to town - beautiful. Drive through Rocky Mountain National Park - beautiful (okay if you're in the Western half - it's hard to find a non-beautiful view) Ouray/Silverton/Telluride area - anything - but the Million dollar highway in Silverton is neat and FYI - I drove a number of trails around Woodland Park, Divide, Cripple Creek, Victor in a Datsun 210 wagon and that was before they legalized Gambling and semi-paved the roads, so no challenge at all for a Liberty. |

So many great things to do here in CO. Are you looking for outdoor activities? Activities for a family setting? In the city, outside the city? Rocky Mtn Nation Park is awesome, some really cool things to see there. Most any National Park is free camping. Some great lakes to Fish are 11 mile, Blue Mesa, Spinney, Taylor Park, St Mary's Glacier, Green Mountain, plus many more, there are sections of Gold Medal Waters for trout fishing on some Rivers. Something I did recently was take a hot air balloon ride in the mountains near Gunnison, CO and that was amazing. I personally like Denver more than the Springs and yes I have lived both places. Also the Sand Dunes are quite spectacular. There is Pikes Peak in the Springs and also Garden of The Gods. I would very much recommend Rocky Mountain National Park, especially if it's your first visit, the scenery is breath taking and I have always seen a good herd of Elk or Moose up there.
