Calico Clean Up Event

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

This will be an official LOST JEEPS gathering for the month of February.

Location
This year’s event will be staged at Peggy Sue’s Diner in Yermo, CA. From I-15, exit Ghost Town Road and turn east. Turn north at the stop sign and the diner will be on your left. The address is 35654 Yermo Rd, Yermo, CA.

Lunch (OPTIONAL)
The all-inclusive adult meal includes 4oz. BBQ Ribs and Chicken, BBQ beans, chips and
soft drink. The all-inclusive kid’s meal includes hot dog, BBQ beans, chips and soft drink. A $20 registration fee helps offset event costs, including meals and t-shirts.


Lets do this.

(Possible "party" for my B-Day afterward at DiNapoli's Firehouse Italian Restaurant in Barstow if you would like to attend.)

BTW, $20 donation gets you a Lunch, T-Shirt and 3 raffle tickets. You need to register if you want to get in on that deal though.
It is optional so please show up and help clean up a great 4x4 area.

Did they change the staging area to :

Our new staging location will be at the Desert Discovery Center located at 831 Barstow Road, Barstow, CA 92311



The Firehouse was pretty good last time we were there sounds great !♦

So are we just showing up for the Saturday? the site says stuff about Friday pre registration and some kinda run on Sunday?

Location & Primary Staging Area - UPDATED
Our new staging location will be at the Desert Discovery Center (DDC) located at 831 Barstow Road, Barstow, CA 92311. Registration, drivers meeting, lunch, and the raffle will take place at DDC. Exit Barstow Road from I-15 and head north approximately 1/4 mile. It is located on the east side of Barstow Road past the city fire station. This is less than 10 minutes from the Calico Mountains and Mule Canyon entrance.

Registration
Early registration will be open Friday and again Saturday morning at the Calico Clean Up trailer located at the Desert Discovery Center. Every participant MUST sign the event waiver. If you do not sign the waiver, you are not part of this event. Once you check in you will receive your event t-shirt and event program.

Please make sure you attend the drivers meeting. Event rules, safety, and division and group leaders will be briefed on trail assignments with specific tasks. Groups will be formed and assignments will be announced.

We encourage each group leader to assign at least one driver to take photographs and/or video their groups accomplishments and contribution. Documentation of this event is extremely important. We are striving for OHV grants to help off set our costs for future events held in the BLM Barstow Field office area

THIS IS NOT A LOST JEEPS EVENT! Please be sure to register online and to check for updates.
The LOST JEEPS club is attending this function as a group so we can show our support and show off our Libertys and other Jeeps.

I will only be attending on Saturday but others are welcome to attend as much as they like.

Or possibly the one in Barstow but a little less cool factor there (AFAIK) and maybe more crowded due to the groups from the cleanup.

Thought I was going to get that day off but turns out not. :cry:
BUT I'm all for the firehouse. I can get to the one in Apple Valley early and make sure we've plenty of room for the festivities :D :shock: :twisted:

So settled for the Apple Valley one?

It is the one I have been to before and it was a decent place for dinner. We had a group of about 20 when we were there and it worked out ok.

I'm trying. I've been trying to play up how fun it'd be to get off work, drive five hours, clean up trash, eat and drive five back will be a fun Valentine's weekend. No luck so far, but I'm stubborn. :D We'll see if my persistence works.....

I am extremely interested, but I am having surgery and may not be healed up in time. If I am, I will be there! I will post up as the dates get closer.
