Post subject:  I need some xj opinions *New lift and new pic's added*
Well I have finally brought the XJ back into the garage to finish her up and I am having trouble deciding which route I want to take her. I have decide to relift her and start new, but I am having trouble deciding on which route to take. Right now I am leaning towards the Rubicon 5.5 extreme duty lift and the Clayton long arm kit. I am lookin at acheiving 7 inches total with the rest of the parts I have and I have a month to complete it ( a small bet has been made ). I guess what I am asking is which kit would best suite this vehicle. All opinions would be appreciated.

I finished the lift today! This is a Rubicon Express 8" Long Arm W/ 33" BFG M/T's. I also installed Curries 1 1/4" crome moly Steering. I still need to install the SYE and the drive shaft. Here are a couple pic's before it rolls out of the drive way and hits the trails

Sounds good. Just do it. As a minimum do the RE kit. We had great luck with the 4.5" kit.

Bigger is always better. RE 5.5 looks like the winner. Anyone wanna help me do the install? I'll provide the food and comedy ( you can watch me smash my fingers and run around screaming like a little girl :lol: ) only thing is we have to do this at my house. It's kinda on stands right now having brake work done and steering box issues repaired.

What's the bet?

As the owner of a slightly modified XJ might I suggest a few things? What size tires do you want to run? How much money are you willing to spend?

I would not "just buy a kit" but rather carefully pick and choose my parts for what type of wheeling I plan to do. I have tried a few items over the years and picked up a few tricks (from those in the business or on my own).

Kit purchased from All J's. We came up with a great lift for what I am hoping to achieve. I will not give away the lift just yet but here is a little bit of info you can have. Rubicon lift, Curry Steering upgrade, advance adapters SYE, New driveshaft, and RE Monotube Shocks. I have done the mix and match with this vehicle before and kind of got burned a few times. So I decided I would go with everything from one proven manufacturer. I cant get any better than from Quinn and Rubicon. Thanks for all the help guys. Plan on seeing this monster at Calico!
