Man, I'd love to go. I have weekend manager coverage at the plant that weekend. Chances are that I wouldn't even get a call, but I have to stay in the area in case I'm needed. :(

I've never been to Uwharrie, I have limited experience, and my Jeep is almost stock (no lockers, did order skids today though). Is it worth tryng to get another manager to swap with me? Or should I wait till I get my lockers in?

I'm assuming they have trails of different difficulty for different levels. I would have the wife and kids, so I'd probably go easy anyway. I know we usually want to take a trail buddy, but I may have to go solo this weekend...
Thanks

I have 245/75/16 BFG TA K/Os so traction should be decent. I'm hoping the skids come in today...

Actually I do have a lift. 2.5" skyjacker lift. I'm hoping my plates come in tomorrow and I'll have those on too. We've decided that we are going this weekend, either way. Whether the skids come in will decide on how aggressive we get on the trails.
My limitations will be mainly my open diff's. Worst case, that just gets me stuck and I stand on the top and yell for help until someone has pity on me :)

Sorry that we won't both be there at the same time, I'd like to see that SAS. But I plan on being in Wilmington or Uwharrie at least every other weekend this summer, so we'll meet up.

Later man,

I am dyin to see that SAS though. We should meet up some weekend either at Uwharrie or Freeman park. The only cool custom thing I have is 2 8" subs under the front seats. I plan on pulling them out this Summer and building another box with even more airspace. These have about .33 cu ft. I think I can get some more out of there and possibly even put some 10" under there.

GOOD NEWS! Another manager actually requeste dto take this weekend's coverage so that he could be freed up next weekend. I may be able to go after all! You guys still going?

If you guys are still going, are you going to try the campgrounds or do primitave camping on the trails? That nice flat spot up on Falls Dam Rd would be a good spot. Especially if you had friends/family coming that were not in 4X4's. There's also a good spot not far off the main road on Rocky Mountain Loop that I saw would be good for a group. It would require 4X4's to access it though.

Just watch your drive shaft boot seals.

The rubbing sound I thought was rocks in the brakes has turned out to be a torn up and missing boot on the drive shaft. So, my Jeep has been sitting in the service garage for the past two days waiting for the new part.

I don't know if I'll take her out on any hard stuff anymore. 97k miles, probably need to be a little nicer to her.

That sux. I only have 67,000 on my 2003. I guess I have about 30k more miles of hard wheeling?

Seriously, I think I'll check my boots, thanks for the heads up.

I'm not TOO worried about minor damage. The Jeep is a third vehicle and the wife doesn't work, so I can do without it for an extended period if needed. It will soon be the fourth vehicle, as soon as I buy my Mercedes 500SL roadster. But that purchase is being pushed back some while I build up the Liberty.
