Chris & Meredith are heading to Uwharrie for the weekend of April 24-26th with their hillbilly Hilton. I expect an appearance from hillbilly Paris at some point. There will be riding Friday evening, Saturday, hopefully Saturday evening, and Sunday before everyone heads out. I most likely will show up for Saturday night, do a little car campin' with Nic, and some riding. Post up with your intentions and interest! |

My intentions are to drive very little where I could possibly cause a repair to be needed. Maybe next year. |

I might go. I'm gearing up the Jeep for when Uwharrie opens back up. I bought an XD9000I Winch this weekend. I also bought a 5X10 trailer to haul any camping gear we might need. I have the winch set up for in-cab controls and it is wired to the sunroof switch in my EVIC. It's pretty trick As far as repairs, I bought a bunch of 18 volt Ryobi Tools and an extra Lithium Ion 18v Battery - Grinder, drill, SawZaw... and a few more we won't need on the trail. I tired the grinder out today. It works like a dream. I have inverters so I can even charge them in the field. I also plan on having On Board Air and an On Board Welder (Alternator welder) installed by then. If I don't get the welder rigged up by then, I'll bring enough cables to create a battery welder. My goal is to be set up so we can do field repairs. I saw the need for that last time we went with BeforeDawn. A quick weld would have really helped that day. I'm planning on either building steel bumpers or having someone build them. I'm about to the point that I'm just going to build them myself. There is a guy in Richmond that says that he can build one similar to an ARB for about $500. Then all that is left is the ARB lockers and mud tires. I'm hoping to have those in by then also... depends on how much my bonus is |

Chris and I reserved site # 42 at Arrowhead for April 24 and 25. We will probably get there late afternoon Friday and get the camper set up. Saturday will be wheelin day, I'll cook Saturday night....and then we'll head out Sunday morning. Anybody that cares to join us, feel free to drop in any time. There are a couple groups having their outings that weekend. CNC4x4 and the Isuzu group are there, don't know of others yet. I'm ready for springtime! |

Where is this Uwaharrie place you speak of? Would it be near Raleigh? Curious, cuz the way things are going, I should be there by the end of the year. |

About 1 hour 45 minutes from Raleigh. It is a National Park and the OHV trails are open from spring thru November. |
