| Post subject: | North Carolina or Virigina Mountains |
Me and my other half are thinking of going camping some time this spring. I haven't decided on either NC or VA mountains. Can anyone recommend anything. We would like to be around someplace to go hiking and poss fishing. Also I know some people have gone on the fire trails around the mountains, anyone know where they are? thanks -Zack |

I'm not sure what area of VA you're looking toward, but we had fun camping/fishing/canoeing in the Staunton River State Park (near South Boston, VA). It wasn't the most mountainous area, but it was hilly enough for some enjoyable hiking while we were there. The Rocky Knob Recreation area (on the Blue Ridge Parkway) is one of our favorite areas to hike. It's just north of Meadows Of Dan and there are some fantastic hiking trails. |
