passed by the perkins exit yesterday, and it was closed...figured it was packed....lo and behold a few hours later, it was open...so my guess was right
(this was around 2 in the afternoon

anyway...hyde and cacher...wots the deal w/ the convoy?

meet up at 10 ish...BS for a while, then head out 1030

was gonna take u guys through the scenic route..it's a bit longer (mayeb an extra 10 or so minutes) but the drive i think is worth it....

you guys are gonna have a convoy up here from queens.
I will be taking my wife to her suprize baby shower in queens that same day.
If you see my green RENNY JR with the chrome bull bar, Give me a damm wave. LOL... I will be headding south on the Palisades to the GWB.
I wish I could meet up with you guys. I hope you have a good time and have a nice day to enjoy.

yes yes, i was gonna post this like tomorrow or soemthing, but..eh...nows a good time

We'll meet at the starbucks in tower square in Woodside NY (corner of Woodside and Northern, across the street from a Mobile, and a Jiffy Lube). It's where Micheals, Duane Reade, Boston Market, etc., is.

Im thinking we should meet up by 930 am, and get going by 10 am. I'll take us up through the TriBoro Br. (Hope everyone has EZPass) through the Deegan. We'll exit at Exit 9 off of the I-287/87 and take Rt. 9A through Sleepy Hollow, and Tarrytown, through Inidan Pt, then up the Mt. to the Bear Mtn Bridge.

Trip should take us about 2 hours.

if no one of us has no ezpass, then we can just take the no toll route (somewhat less exiciting and only really applies going one way), or we all have expasses, someone w/ us might not like the mtn pass (easily get car sick) then, we can just take the direct way....(really boring)

also, after TOP, was planning on going to Woodbury Commons, and maybe Palisades Center. (woodbury is minutes away from where we're going to be)

anyway, lemme know if this is feasable?

For us the Whitestone is easier. We could meet up someplace on the other side......

OK. I am good to go, let's meet there around 9:30. Lot should be empty then, if we got good # of people, or at least more than just jon and me, we can park in reverse next to each other and get a good first picture of our jeeps there. :lol:

PS: so far only 7 attending altogether

I'm good so far,I have someone to cover for me at work BUT if we have a weekend like last ( 4 Funerals) I will not be able to show,keep your fingers crossed,so far I'll be there at 12 noon

if you guy's can come up with golf balls that'd be great,I told Ernie ( Neatus) I'd get him some & ship them to Iraq for him for thier makeshift driving range

hey, how's everyone been, had some unpleasant family stuff to attend to, sorry for the lapse. i feel really bad about the sept run. i do plan to make it up to everyone. just had way too much stuff goin on and no time for anything else.

ok so whats the plan for the toys for tots, the bear mtn brige is about 20 min from home for me. i get the bring a toy idea, are we doin a lunch cook out thing??? or just bring your own?

last year we went to Drucifers town,which is not too far away & parked at his house & grabbed a bite at a train station restaraunt thing ( don't remember the names ) I believe we might do the same I don't know,but we will be going to eat somewhere,guess we'll decide when everyone arrives

yep, i know the place. its in cold spring. cant remember the name either. :roll:

ive got an idea for a side trip. its about 5 min from cold spring, sorry its not wheelin, but its worth the drive. has anyone ever heard of Bannermans Castle???? its a castle, yes a real castle, on a small island just off shore. it was owned way back when by an arms dealer, and resembles an old scottish castle. great photo opp. bring lots of film, spare memory cards and lenses.
you cant go to the island legally but you can get some great pix from the shore, no one will believe you when you show them the pix.

do a search to get some history on the place.

ive got an idea for an alternate way back down to the bridge. we jump the newburg/beacon bridge and go south, then jump on 308? and run down the side of the mountain visible from cold spring. it drops you off near west point but it runs right along the edge of the mountain great views, couple of photo opps.
