Post subject:  post clean up

HI friends just to keep ya up to par,I'm currently going to be doing a clean up about every 6mnths of old posts,if it's an important post it will stay such as rides, tech, & anything of that nature just to keep us up to date & current

unfortunitly the post counter we all have will get lower but there's nothing to fix that from what I've been told, some of the other clubs should be doing the same thing as I am soon + nobody realy reads the old posts anyways so there's realy no point in keeping them but I am going thru each one to make sure there is nothing important in it if there is it will stay SORRY FOR ANY INCONVIENCE

Don't the "non important" posts automatically fall to the bottom from non replies? is it really neccessary to actually "clean them out"? Does it accomplish anything? (like clearing space on the server?) If so, wouldn't it make sense to just delete the oldest couple of pages? Just askin, especially since we only actually have 3 pages of posts.

I agree, I think message boards like this are supposed to have a searchable history, even of the stupid stuff :-P It's just text, you could have thousands upon thousands of messages and still have it take up almost no space at all.

I think sticky threads, announcements and etc should be cleaned up every so often. Once a run is over, it can be made not-sticky and fall off with time. But I think you pretty much have that covered, I see the CT one is already nin-sticky and ready to roll off.
