How about using a (photorealistic/line-art) shovel for the arrow?

What's funny is that it was never really supposed to be a shovel - I went through about 20 different bezier-curve arrows before settling on that one, and it ended up being shovel-like!

If there's a way to make a shovel without losing the simple design, I'm all for it - I'm a little wary of anything complex, since it won't look as good in print (and it's hard to make anything good in vector!). I'll try and maybe fix the "handle" and "spade" to make it look like a shovel and see how it comes out.

If u could get the box surrounding the NE to not extend beyond the outer rim of the compass (I know it looks good on a drawing) I could get the logo placed on the next order of tokens (see my other posts) that I do to publisize the NE group. But since they are round, the box wouldn't be able to extend past the rim.

IMHO, the "box" could share the outer perimeter with the enclosing circle, and extend down into the interior. This will still leave plenty of room for distinctive "NE".

I'll try my hand at fixing the NE to make it fit in the circle (I wanted to do that anyway, so it would fit in a normal shape (I think I want a sticker with that on it, too).

Now how do we get a large version of the decal? The one we have on the sticker is already stretched about as much as you can stretch it and expect it to look ok. Is there a larger original somewhere, or would we need to re-do it from scratch?

So something like this?

I haven't done anything to the "shovel" yet.

That is perfect. So purty. I think with the "shovel" hand, you have the right elements to evoke "out there, in the wild" spirit. Great job guy!

EDIT: When you're done, would you mind sharing the original vector file so maybe I can mutate it for "LOST KJ West" too? :D

Looks great so far!

I hate to be picky (actually it's my middle name :? ) but in thinking about the decal/shirt potential, would it be possible to lighten up the area around the compass rose? It would produce a crisper, less 'muddy' image during the printing process and would make the compass rose and shovel "pop" out more.
Chris

I fixed the shovel:

Image

I still need to go over it and finalize colors / text. I like the earthy/jeepy colors onscreen, but I don't know how it would look printed / on a shirt/decal/etc. I like how it covers KJ, Jeep, LOST, NE, and Liberty Owners Special Team, but it makes it really busy, so I can see why it would be nice to have it just say LOST. Maybe different logos for different purposes?

So do I. No need to make up seperate logos. Maybe just defferentiate the colors a little more.
