Hey, a bunch of us can get together to check out that spot on the LIE now that we know where it is. Anyone up for a weekend run out there? For the next 2 weeks, I'm off Thurs & Fri if anyone wants to go out this week or next (of course next Thurs is Thanksgiving so scratch that one). After that, weekends off for a month. Edit: Nobody???? |

I'm in. I'm not off thursday or friday, but I can usually get out of work fairly early. Like 4 or so. This weekend my parents are visiting, so it's out, but after turkey day I'm cool, maybe sunday the 4th or whatever? |

Argh! Just lost my note! Here goes again. I doubt this trail area is worth the effort to organize a trip; and certainly not a weekend! It's just an old constructdion area that's good for aTV's and the like, but boring for Jeeps. If you're going to drive over from Westchester, may as well go west instead and hit paragon. Real trails there. That being said, let me know if you go and maybe I'll tag along since it's in my back yard (well, 20 minutes east). If I get outa work early tomorrow, I'll go check it out more than just a quick peek. Who knows, ya know? Sometimes a small area with lots of interesting obstacles can be fun. But I'll try to confirm

By weekend I meant either a Sat or Sun for a quick drive out. My GF lives in queens so we are usually out that way anyway as she likes going to Port Jeff for lunch/dinner. The guys that told me about this place say it's alot of fun and quite large. So, tentative for the weekend of the 4th? |

Actually yeah, would be a good training wheel place Looks like the fleet vehicle gods will be letting me get new tires tomorrow! So I probably won't bother putting on the Revos unless it's snowing like crazy. All we need is a time and a place... Unless we just meet there.

So far it looks like noonish unless that's no good for anyone... We could hit Port Jeff after for late lunch or dinner depending on how long we stay. Anyone have any ideas for a meeting place? Where is everyone coming from? I'll be coming from the Whitestone Bridge/Shea Stadium area..... |
