Thanks to ALBERT (DAVE) I was talking to Dave tonight and he had said something about a 909 place by me. I had never heard of this before tonight. I did some researching and I found LEAGAL OPEN LANDS for 4x4's It has a pubilc phone number in wich I am going to call tomorrow to get more details. From the website it does say 100% open lands. Forrest rangers basically make sure nothing gets out of hand. I will post more infomation later tomorrow But here is some infomation rite off their website: 909 Acres - (NAME CENSORED) State Preserve Located off the Northbound Taconic State Parkway, in (CENSORED), NY Town of (CENSORED) Town Clerk: 914-CENSORED-3274 Taconic Region Park State Office: 914-CENSORED-4100 909 is a New York State multiuse land; it allows many activities on its land such as snowmobiling, 4 by 4 off-roading, hunting. 909 is an advanced placed to ride due to its numerous steep hills, loose terrain, and tight singletrack. Trails there are varied. The entire preserve is connected by a circle of fireroads. Branching off of the fireroads are a mix of singletrack trails, medium-width trails, and grassy trails. 909 is of course just that; 909 acres. There is a lot of land to get lost in; know where you are going before setting out on this ride. It is best to go to 909 with someone that knows its trails so you don't get lost. sounds like something to look into. So far no one from the North East has ever said anything about the 909 thing. I hope it is good. I kind of know the region a little bit. I know it is about 50 (GIVE OR TAKE) miles south os the Mass Pike and I-90 and The North Way (I-87) MORE DETAILS TOMORROW! |

I am trying to get on a run at the 909 .... as soon as I find the place. The meeting place will be at the Daily Planet Diner parking lot on Rte 55 Poughkeepsie. It is right off the Tachonic and the 909 is near there. I am not sure the exit # but it says Rte#55 Poukeepsie and you get off and turn towards Poughkeepsie and the diner is on the left about 100 yards or less from the exit. Stay tuned as it might happen fast. Brian, you might know where the diner is. Stay tuned. |

Dont know if you found it yet , but maybe this will help.. Some of it is uncharted, do not travel it alone. NY - Taconic Hereford 909 From 84 take the Taconic state Parkway North ROUGHLY, 15 miles and look for Right Turn on Tyrell Road.. Drive .64 miles and park in lot on right.. There is also another lot right off the highway, see map.. |

I think this is the place you guys are looking for, my sister-in-law use to live up that way and she use to do run her mountain bike up there. she turned me on to the place a few years back. it is still in operation for mountain bike competition. She knew the area well and she had it charted on GPS. I have to say she took me on a tour with my Rubi and there were some sick trails. I went back with the KJ, and some of the places were challenging. If it is the place good luck. I would invite myself to go with you guys but my work schedule for the next three weeks is sick. But let me know anyway. |

Hey Guy's I finally found the place right off the highway, its cool, but needs to be scouted, sh*t, I ended up having to back up a much farther than I would have liked too, haha. However I did find out a really good thing about my KJ today. I've been bitching to my dealer that the transmission isn't right, I was driving mostly in 2 wheel, but then used 4 high and heard a clicking winding noise, same thing in 4 low. then it stopped when I put it back in 2 wheel. So, I'll be getting another renatl tomorrow while Jeep fixes my baby Bri, lets head out there soon |
