Well since I still had the engine skid off from the diff oil change I decided to get the engine skid line xed because there was some rust already starting to build up on all the scraps from all the "mall crawling".

Stopped by the line x place by me and the ONLY one in the island. I'm sure the guy is going to have a fun time taking all the coats of paint off ! I figured that was a some what of a good price. I really wanted to do the DIY Herculiner but I've been reading a lot of mixed reviews about it and haven't heard any bad things about line x.

If you plan to go off roading at all, don't Line-X your skids.
Biggest waist of money EVER......

and they wont sand it to bare metal....

yea I've been telling the guys that I want to get mine line xed before the winter too Benny. When I pick up the skid I'll ask how much they charge for the basket and will let you know.

Well the only skid I'm getting line xed is the engine skid. Seems like its the only one that takes the most abuse from all the wheeling I've done. That and I also want to protect it from the sand it plows when I go on the beach because at the end of the summer the ruts in the sand start getting deep and believe it or not I can still here the skid plowing the sand in certain areas of the beach.

But hey, to each their own. :5SHOTS:

Peter, I believe the reason it is a "waste of money", is that the Line-X is still penetrable by rocks, and such.. So you spend the money to put it on, and after a couple of scrapes, it looks the same as if it were just paint under there. :(

BUT, I hope in your case it isnt, I'll take one :5SHOTS: if your pouring 8)
