Never too early to start planning!

I think it's important that we find a trail to ride first, before setting a date for a ride, though.

Does anyone know of any 4x4 clubs we could do a group ride with? I would think some of them would know some open trails in new england somewhere.

Yeah, no problem. Any of those days will be fine for me (or rather, I'll make it fine). I looked at those photos and they look GREAT!

Shoot me an email/PM with the coordinates and I'll make sure I have them in for the trip.

Well, I'd love to go... BUT, two things.

1. I just started a new job, and that is the end of my week on call. On call runs from Monday to Monday, but there is the holiday. From what I've been told though, I can remote in and change it to the next person in line, so Monday might be better for me.

2. Unless the pin striping from the last run comes off easy enough (gonna work on that this weekend), I don't think the wife is going to be too hapy about me going out again

I also want to see what's going on that weekend before I commit to anything. Who knows, I may already have something scheduled (you know how wives sometimes do that to you).

I'll keep everyone posted. BTW Pete, can you PM me the where abouts of the trails. I'm kind of curious as to where they are.
Thanks

Have any of you NE'ers who really want to wheel joined Jon Fund? They do a lot of their runs up in/near Mass. They have a level 2-3 ride already planned for May.

Hmm, that may be worth thinking about.$55/year for membership, but they say that they do 18 trail rides a year. Maybe once I get my lift on and new tires I will think about it more. It's been nice riding the comfort zone of being with other KJs, it could be intimidating trying to run the same trails that modded TJs are doing.

I agree Jeff, but they only do 2 moderate to medium trails a year plus it depends on when you sign up as to what you have to pay,I might next year we'll see, kinda like sticking with my own kind though

Not that I'm vehicularly-prejudiced, but it's nice wheeling with a lot of other KJs, just because they are similarly-abled. When I see another KJ go over something, I think "Well, that one can do it, I can, too!".... But if I were out wheeling with a bunch of trail rigs, I'd be constantly thinking "I don't want to wus out on the ride, but I can't make that ___" (where___ is something that will cause major damage to a vehicle that isn't capable enough)

The when you sign up vs what you pay thing is only so that it lines up evenly with the next year. it's still the same amount per year ($55) you just have to pay enough to make it line up on an even year marker, just so that it's easier for them to keep track. I think I would want to go on a ride with them first before paying the dues

Don't think I'm gonna make this one. I'm on call for work that weekend, so I need to be near phone/internet. Maybe next time.
