I heard somewhere that your factory warranty cannot be void if you perform bolt-on modifications. Basically, it’s up to the factory/dealer to prove the upgrade caused the failure. Best to get a lawyer who is familiar with warranty claims involved to help pull the paperwork together.

Being that you have a list, I can see how they would bring it up as a possible risk, but unless the drive line angles and load are significantly changed from what the factory ships, I'd say you have a strong case for getting it covered under warranty.

In the mean time, get a case open with the factory customer service folks. With all the ball joint problems the KJ has had, I've got two claims submitted for tire reimbursement. Would probably get a check if I had followed through with sending them my receipts...

seems like the issue is with the 3rd party warranty.

if you had the powertrain coverage from the factory, they would most likely repair under warranty.

i've had u joints / ball joints / transmission rebuilt on my jeep under warranty and have had a lift on it for most of its life.

jeep actually sold a few puck lifted kj's when they came out, so not sure what argument factory would have based on that..

When we bought ours, Crown Dodge here in Houston offered one with a lift (2", if I recall correctly). Their claim was that it was a Mopar lift and since they installed it, would cover the lift and everything else under factory warranty. I didn't want to spend the extra 2K on the tire and wheel pacage they used, so I opted out.
