| Post subject: | Rear Lift ?? |
Hey, Did you (spacer lift) guys leave your bottom stock spring pads on the rear? If you didn't then you possibly lost 1/2" of the advertised lift, at least with the daystars anyway. I figured this out today after measuring the Black daystar rear spacers. Many places claim 2.5", some call it a 2", same part# KJ09118. Now I know why. Daystar calls it 2" for sure and All J calls it 2.5" Daystar: http://63.134.214.215/html/products/kit ... Lift%20Kit All J: http://www.boulderbars.com/kjproducts.htm The spacer measures 2.5" from the bottom to the spring rest lip, but if you did not leave the stock pad on you have to subtract that 1/2" making it a 2" lift. If you leave the stock pad on its a 2.5" lift. Some folks I talked with claim they left the pad on. Did they say anything about that in the install instructions? Funny thing is, both 2.5" and 2" claims are accurate. It depends on actual lift or spacer thickness, however you look at it. Hopefully, I'll have em on tomorrow. I lost my rake with the .75=1.5" Rusty's front polys and when I put the 2.5's on tomorrow (without pads) that will bring me up 2" in the rear. 1/2" over stock tilt...good enough. I guess $70 for all 4 spacers wern't bad. I guess that puts my (pre-low) about (2.5" front) & (3" rear) over stock newer models, WAY more than I wanted to go, you guys are either inspiring or contagious . Lifts are like a box of chocolates, until you finish and measure, you never know what your going to get. Maybe new tires, maybe not. |

I'm lifted. hour and a half, by myself, one side loose at a time, no beer. I invented a new tool/technique to simplify the spring reinsert process. Now beer !! I did not use the stock Iso-pad and the 2.5" spacer did in fact give me 2" of lift. I did have very minor shock rattle that I hammered a washer in for. I Think I'll keep the 245/70's right now, mucho clearance. |
