I heard from my dad they own land out in Katy, west of Houston. He worked at Astroworld for years and supposedly Disney is eyeing Six Flags moving out of Houston as a sign for them to move into here. just what I heard |

What I was getting at: If they have disney world here too, we can close off the borders, because the rest of the world don't matter! I think I'm only gonna post in the LoneStar area too. |

North side? On the sliding scale.... Heights, Gun Point, Spring, Woodlands, or Conroe. Seems there are three of us Houston types now. Astro World was bound to close. Location (no room to expand, gang activity, parking troubles with Harris County Sports Nazis etc... |

I'm at 45 and 249...just south of the Beltway. My dad said the same things about Astroworld. Gangs actually would hang out and have "turf". WTF? He also said that the employees were told that within 3 years, another park will be in Houston. We'll see. Brad |

Guns-point Yeah, things have gotten worse here in Houston . . . or at least the News focuses on the Katrina aftermath crimes more . . . The worst thing around here now is that the high school gangs have been able to re-organize (organized chaos?) since after fleeing New Orleans and are now fighting over "Turf" .... old gangs saying this is our Turf + new gangs saying well it's ours now = all kinds bad stuff in the schools. My family is from New Orleans and they said recently that it still looks like a war zone in most areas other than downtown. It looks almost impossible to ever rebuild . . . crazy . . . |

The schools are definitely in the middle. You hear about it every day. A friend in Lafayette says in 5 days after the hurricane, the traffic pattern aged 7 years. I swear that happened here too. I was bad enough as it was, now we have more. Blah |

Blah Ditto that for Baton Rouge . . . last time I went back home, it was so obnoxious . . . if I'm in the City I don't dare try to drive on the interstates from 4pm until after 8pm at night . . . and it's still congested at all other times. Luckily I know a bunch of back roads that the newcomers don't, hehe! |

Business is in the toilet as of late. That park here in Oklahoma City is in the toilet already. Not sad to see it go. Funny though since they list OKC as one of their two corporate office ( http://www.sixflags.com/about_us.asp ) |
