Thanks to everyone who came out today. I can not imagine a better day! I can not wait to see photos...

Wish I could have made it but with no lift and tires that are near the end of their life, not to mention some CIS degree homework, I wasn't able to make it. Hey Science_Guy how did the new Wrangler's handle? JasonK, how's the new lift on the trail? The Wrangler Silent Guard that you have Science_Guy and the Rusty's that JasonK has is the combo that I'll be putting together in the next month or so and would like to hear the comments on both your new components on their first offroad test. Can't wait to see the pics and hopefully join you guys on a trail in the future.

The new Silent Armors were wonderful. They performed beyond my expectations. There were only a few times I had to back up and try a hill or obstacle (and this was more because of my inexperience then it was the tires lost traction). I aired down to 22 psi for the entire day. There was some rubbing on the rear tires when I hit off camber obstacles but nothing I am worried too much about. We hit sand, rocks, water, mud and just about everything else you can find in the Midwest style off-road. My jeep was the only one out there today that was not lifted and I kept up with the big boys with their MT/Rs. I “tested” my skids a lot more but I loved the Silent Armors on their first off-road trip out.

They also rode great on the trip there and back. I drove with the radio off on the drive there and they were quieter then the stock tires. There is not a shred of “buyers’ remorse.”

It was a great day. I was amazed at the stuff we did. I need a co-pilot next time as all my clear coat scratches are on the passenger side only! A whole crapload of them up high near the tops of the doors - front to back! Time to get polishing.

I looked on the bottom side and saw the Boulder Bars took a heck of a hit as well(on the passenger side)!

Betty the Beast was sweet as well! Reminded me of the good old days!

Lucy and I had great time guys!

Nice job with the pics alljeep. Thanks to all who brought eats and our trail boss who once again did a great job of keeping the trails fun and challenging. Specially for those who like to run in two wheel drive for half the day.

Thanks to everybody that came today - did not have the time to say good bye to a couple of you guys - Science-Guy, Eddo & Co & AllJeep - I got home with no probs - the power wash did the trick on the fan... I'll have it checked Tuesday - I'll post some pics tomorrow. Great Day of Wheelin' - can't wait for the next.

I woke up with a HUGE smile this morning! My back feels GREAT - I think the KJ is the perfect 4x4 for me! My scratches only show up in the garage under lighted conditions - out in the sun - hardly anything to be seen.

You guys (and gals) should see my air filter! Holy crap does the turbo really suck air, and dust - it's basically plugged! My only regret is not paying attention to where we were. I was so engaged with driving, that I couldn't tell you where the heck we were or when we were there. I want to go back out sometime and actually remember stuff now!

Hey Bakerkj: Did I see that Lucy made it up the sand trap 2 or 3 times???

Do I have access to upload my pictures to the MidWest Photo Gallery or should I email them to someone? They would be much better without a Cardomain label on them.

This is my first post on this site...really enjoying what I'm seeing!!

First off I am NOT a KJ owner YET..but in the last couple months I have been very interested in them...

What a coincidence...I race ATVs and me and a buddy were at the badlands on the 26th..and I woke up (we camped in our motorhome!) to seeing about 3 or 4 KJs waiting in line (I believe 2 renegades and a red one is all i can remember)!! I was excited because it was cool to see what these guys in SUVs were doing out there. This was my first trip to Attica and I'll definitly be back...but what was even cooler...I can almost swear I seen you guys on the trail!!!! I even waited for you guys to cross!! I was riding in the dunes and we were on the top outer trail thing that wraps around the main section of the badlands...you guys were in line climbing a hill to head off to another section for only SUVs. But anyways I remember seeing a group of KJs out there, I believe there was a wrangler in the group too, and it was cool as hell!!! I was really stoked to see you guys tearing it up because lately I've really been thinking that I want to get a KJ...thanks for the motivation. Awesome site...hope to see you guys going at it again!!

Oh and if anyone remembers that hill climb...I was sitting at the top on the black #52 quad w/ another yellow quad...we waited on you guys. Anyways..it was a bit behind the camp ground...maybe one of you will remember!!

That was us. We saw so many ATVs that I can't be sure if I saw you specifically or not, but in any case go get that KJ and come out and wheel with us!

It's on the other side of the KJ and is called the rainbow tree because of all the different paint colors rubbed off on it from drivers without a spotter :shock:

I hate to say it but this is not the rainbow tree we were talking about in previous posts. We bypassed that obstacle. Anyway nice flex and it was a fun filled day. Martin and I really enjoyed it.

Have you cleaned out the "mud induction hole" on the front skid yet? I was bored last night, so around 10pm I headed out to the driveway and hosed off the underside - the stones and mud are really packed in there, I gave up after awhile. Still, more time to think back and enjoy.

I think my favorite picture is of your jeep strapping the 4x2 YJ up the rocky slope that I took. It really shows off your front end MTRs and lift.

Are those the MOPAR roof cargo rails you have? Does MOPAR make more than one kind?

I had to actually drop the engine skid one time becuase all the pea-gravel and sand from the dunes turned to a weak concrete. I had to chip it away with a hammer! That could be what you have in yours as well. I have not dropped it as yet from this trip. I was at the car wash yesterday looking like a fool washing off the mud while it was drizzling outside.

Those are in fact the Mopar renegade cross rails and they do make a set for the regular bars as well. I do not have a part number for you though. If you email jparts, a real nice guy named Ken will help you out for sure.

Definitly...I can't wait to get one. I've really been after trying to find a nice used Renegade..but I'm sure they're on the top of the price range. Thats cool that I got to see you guys out there though. All I have to say is you guys are pretty brave!! I seen you climbing the hills on the backside and they were quite steep!!! I'm new to all of this but I'm here to learn. Thanks for the response and hope to one day join you guys out there!!
