When I left he had the u-joint replaced and the driveshaft back where it should be. However I believe his tri-link (or track bar) was still hosed. Part of the carnage that doesn't show on the pics is that his tri-link had sheered all but one bolt off the diff housing. He was visiting the local dealership to see if they had any parts that would help repair that.

so the news....

Im staying here in indy with my gf and Im going to try and get one of her roomies bf to go and pick up my jeep and trailer it back to cincy.. park it and ill work on it at my house.. be the easiest and cheapest for now at least... right now the tri link casting is trash i need to get a new one from a dealer or a used from a junkyard.. after that i need to extract the two upper bolts on the housing, the single bottom bolt is fine. the u joint is okay and i put new clips on so thats done.. only thing now is to get a new tri link and extract those two bolts and tap them if needed to 9/16 i believe..

im thinking my wheeling days are over or put on hault at least until a can get a trailered rig.. so what im doing as of now is taking the the 2.5 spacers out all around and run with the 3 inch lift for awhile.. then after I get new (stock) tires put on I will take the 3 inch coils out and put the stock springs, struts and shocks all back on. and sell everything I have on it..

or... :?

I might just keep the 3 inch on if i end up keeping my jeep and just use it to pull the trailered rig...

well guys thanks for all of your help again today! :D I had fun besides the sheared bolts. who would have thought the kjs u joint would be bigger than the tjs... and that wasn't gonna fail so the darn grade 5 bolts did..

well ill keep you updated hopefully all goes well and i can get a trailer and the guy from indy to tow it to my home..

Yikes Wes!! Thats no fun at all! With that much lift, you'd probably be better off with an xj.... no upper arms to break, no tri-link suspensions...

:P

Hope you get everything fixed!
