I have had the opportunity to know and wheel with hundreds of people over the years but I have to say the various ones that I have gotten to know on here are about the best there are.

Saturday we attempted to do several things to 3 KJs

First installed new rear shocks and bumpstops on jerbachers, since he had the Rustys before and we were installing OME 132Ls it took some time to open up the top shock mount but we got it done.
Next was a Frankenlift and used RL rock rails on lioneyes640, lift went good, no major problems on the lift except for the top strut nuts not being tightened down peoperly, we got the rails on after some bumps in the road due to them being for an earler model, and the template not matching the holes in the rails.
Then came new CVs in cdiekhans, it was now getting later in the day, I only slept 3 hours the night before so was turning into the old bear that I am :shock:
Others who stopped in had left earlier and lionseye had left leaving 501, jerbacher, cdiekhans, ray, and me to do the CVs, left side was not too bad, then came the right and the real root of the problem. But....

Anyways what this started out to say was even though Daryl (501) is from the west side of Indiana, jerbacher and ray are from the east side of Ohio they all hung in there until way past midnight just to try and get things done. Way beyond what most people do for even close friends but this was for people they had met on line and have one common interest, Jeeps.
So Thanks for you guys coming , hanging out, hopefully maybe learning a few new things, sharing some pizza and great friendship. Could not ask for a better bunch of people to know.
Looking forward to the day that all of our Heeps are running fine and all we do is sit , eat and tell little lies

I just have to say, my Jeep rides SO much better after getting those crappy shocks out of there. No more clunks either! :D

we were talking about you yesterday saying that we bet yours rode WAY better than what those old shocks rode like :lol: :lol: :lol: talk about being worn out!

It was nice to see everyone, There sure were a bunch of Bad @ss KJ's!
I don't have many pics... The only chance I had, was when everyone was out getting drill bits... :roll: Both times... :lol:

It was fun! My hands still hurt, :lol:! We need to have a get together when there are no wrenches envolved! The first 6 hrs were Cool... but after that it was work!

Oh and thanks to Larry for the Hitch Cover! Gotta put that on soon! Very Cool! 8)

So does anyone have a spare Dana 30A laying around!?!?! :roll: :lol: Or I may just go SFA!?! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

come to think of it he bought it once and then took his money back :shock:


I don't want to buy New CV's again..... It wont fit... or did you figure something out Tom?

tom- I was thinking more along the lines of him taking your current one after you install the 4.10s.

chris- what wont fit? why do you need more new cv's?

tom- I was thinking more along the lines of him taking your current one after you install the 4.10s.

chris- what wont fit? why do you need more new cv's?


Tom's spare 30A with 4:10 seems to be different than mine and his.. We think it is for a later year.. like 06... So It might not work... Plus Toms front diff all ready has 120000 miles on it... I don't know what the deal is ... We have lots to research... :D

.... interesting. I didnt know there were any changes on the d30a throughout the production cycle of the kj. Thats very very interesting. Well anyway, good luck to you. If you need any help with anything I'll do what I can! Hate to see a fellow Jeeper without a capable Jeep! Hey, you could go wheeling with only 2wd, then we could really see how good that fancy new bumper is for recoveries!! :lol: :lol:

I got a quote from them and told them I'd take it and when I'd pick it up. They had it sitting on a skid waiting for me to take. They had a pretty clean warehouse with lots of parts waiting to be bought. Cant remember the name of the place for sure, but it was in canton.

Sounds like a LKQ yard. We have one here in MC.
