Just found out / realized that I have a conflict that weekend. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

My other great passion will have to take the front seat, as the
WSKA Shotokan Karate World Championships are at Harper College in Palatine
on September 16 - 18, 2011. :rockon: :rockon:

Sorry guys...... but this is only the 2nd time in 20 years the World's have been held in the US.....
and I've got quite a few friends from overseas who will be coming for the event... SO-O-O-O-O-......

Jeepin' takes the back seat this time.... :JEEPIN: :JEEPIN:

I may not be able to go, but I'm hoping to still. I have a cousin who had a stroke this summer and her benefit is that weekend.

I'll hopefully have plans more finalized in the next week.

It was a lot of fun! I just wish we spent more time in Nicolet. We cut our time short after I slipped in some mud and banged up my knee really well. :( Ah well, there's always next year!

Thinking about taking my girlfriend out to this area in the next few weeks. I had awesome results when I asked for trail notes covering the Manistee National Forest, so I figure it is worth a shot again.

Anyone have trail notes for the Bear Lake area (and areas due north) in the Nicolet National Forest?
I am also looking for some great sights to see, since the focus on this trip won't be strictly offroading.

If you go into Laona, WI, there is the Nicolet NF Ranger Station that has maps. They aren't great trail maps, but we've worked with them in the past and will give you a rough idea of areas to try.

Depending on what you guys want to try, Aaron and I have gone on the Shotgun Eddy's rafting trips - we had an awesome time! I'd like to do that again sometime. I'd recommend that! :D

I am going to be visiting some friends up in Land O Lakes, WI this week. If I get a chance to head out to the trails, I'll report back. I might try some trails on the Michigan side of the border as well.

I would certainly be in for a trip either up to Nicolet or Manistee this fall.
