So, how about another nice turnout before the weather starts getting bad? Any suggestions for date/trail? Sunday, October 22nd? China Wall? China Wall is pretty stocker friendly with a great picnic area at the end of the trail for lunch and meeting, with some obstacles for those that want to try some challenges. I think some/most of the higher elevation trails will be getting snow by then, so we might go ahead and plan for something lower in elevation. Any ideas? |

Look at the weather man... Calling for snow Sunday and Next Thursday, only going to be 45 for the high with snow in the Springs.... SNOW RUN!!!!!!!!  
Would the trail be Subaru friendly? Wondering how she would do in the snow... Sunday would work best for me, Scout Camp out on Frday and Saturday. |

OK Gang, this will be the meeting as well as the mild trail ride. My Junk is beat up from Chinaman's Gulch, so I will be taking it easy... I would especially like to invite those who participated in the Conservation Run up mount Baldy and Eagle Rock... I have my reasons

Lets get everyone we can to come out to this one. Probably want be to many more, if any, runs the rest of the year depending on the weather. I know my junk is going under the knife after this one for the winter to get it ready for Moab in April. Like I have mentioned before about this trail, there is an awesome area at the end of the trail to have our meeting, and maybe put together another campfire, make up some s'mores, cook some dogs, etc., like we did for the conservation run. Please, let's have a great turnout. The trail is a pretty easy drive to get to, and and easy fun trail to run, so let's get a list going of who plans to be there. We probably should discuss a holiday get together for sometime in December at the meeting. |

Sorry I won't be able to make this one,I'll be on leave till november 6th due to my surgery on the 16th so I'll be back in SD recovering for awhile.Any trail runs after the 6th of nov. I may be a ride along depends on how my arm feels. |

Colorado Springs area guys usually meet at the McDonald's in Woodland Park. It's about one hour from Woodland Park, so we could probably meet there around 0800 and put us at the trail head by 0930. |

I will be bringing one of my troops that is PCSing next month in his YJ on 35"ers... Never wheeled before, and finally has new meats. Trying to talk another guy with a huge F-150 into coming too, but he says his tires are bald... They look brand new compared to Marty's!!!!!

(this goes for other Denver area people as well) @Ted...Re: the F150 According to Traildamage there are some very tight turns that are supposed to be tough for mid-sized and full-sized vehicles. Might want to rethink the F150. John ];') I don't think an F150 will have any troubles. I don't remember any tight turns from the last time we were there. It's actually pretty open. There is one turn on another trail connected to China Wall that I wouldn't take the F150 through, but for the actual China Wall trail, nothing too serious. |

What is the trail number for china wall? Or more specificaly the ones you all are talking about hitting up. Been watching those mountains and seeing that snow, trying to look on noah and see how much snow they got. (heard that is was 12" +) I'm just nervous with the snow as I heard this trail is a 7 (4x4trails.net) difficulty wise. |

The only way this trail is a 7+ is if you take all the optional obstacles. There is no place on this trail that a stock KJ couldn't get to. The trail is FS 212 located in Park County. Trail Damage lists it at a 3 on the low end (all the bypasses) and a 6 on the high end (all the obstacles). With the snow it may make things a bit more difficult but I shouldn't think you'd have too many troubles especially if you're bringing out the XJ. |

Sorry for being negative, just cautious on trails I haven't gone on before. I now have a better understanding of those trail ratings, and I guess it depends on which site you go to as well. I'm game for anything, I'm still getting used to this jeep and it could still use some breaking in for a new crawler like myself. Last weekend I learned a little about snow and how it effects these trails. Saw a trail I could easily make it up (wife driving w/4lo on, me outside the jeep kind of hill) however after they got slick I just couldn't get any traction on any rocks made coming down fun  Thanks for the trail number as well, just curious on the weather up their.
