I have a 2003 Freedom edition that has a 2 inch lift...I want some rubicon rims bad but I am afraid that they will rub really bad.

I am looking for someone with the rubi rims and MTR's who would be willing to swap rims and tires so I could drive around the block and test them out, see where they rub, and how bad.

Thanks...i am in Lone Tree. :D

PM Ted (USAFCOP). His junk has been sitting at my place for awhile, and I know he has an extra set of wheels/BFG AT's, that he might want to swap back to his jeep and take the MT/R's off for a little while. If you want to make the drive, and probably help him swap all the tires around, I bet he would go for it. I have those skid prices by the way, I'll PM those to you later, if I haven't already. I can't remember if I already pmed them or not (dang worthless short term memory) .

OH yeah, and I like beer.

Boosted, one issue. Brand new tires rub more than worn tires. When I got my brand new MTR's with the Rubi(Moab) wheels, they still rubbed a lot during full lock. Now that I have many miles on mine, no rub at all.

You would not get a good indication trying someone's used tires.

I think Dave is alluding to the fact that we get a lot of requests for help and then guys never contribute to the local club. It's kind of sad, but we've had to limit wrench parties and the like to paying members. A few folks have taken advantage in the past. We'd love to have you come out on a couple runs and dues are only $24/year. I've found that when folks take an active role in the club our members are more than willing to lend a hand. 8)

BTW, with a 2" lift you should be fine. It will rub on the pinch weld and at the fog light door, but because of the greater offset there will be little to no rubbing on the swaybar. The amount of contact is about the same as a stock wheel, but the greater offset just moves the rubbing outward a little. All of it can be dealt with by using a hammer and a heat gun...takes 30 minutes.

Cool....thanks for the info.

I am am member of many clubs and have no problem becoming a member. The hard part is I cant go on any runs, or any of the other member benefit things you guys do like wrench parties, camping stuff, parties, and anything else. I work on weekends....so during the week is when I do my stuff.:(

What does the $24 go towards...... :?:

Joe,

This past year (first year), we were just getting things started, and it was easier at the time to do events on the weekends. This year when the trails clear up, since I am the events coordinator for the club, I plan to get the schedules from everyone that have set work cycles. I'll look at these schedules each month, and figure out when the most people have what days off together. We may find that a day in the middle of the week may work better for most people to attend an event. Doing this, we can have a larger attendance for events, and possibly fit in a lot more events in one month, whether it be a wrenchathon, BBQ, trail run, or whatever. So, if you have a regular work schedule, I will start collecting those from everyone here in the real near future, so I can start working on planning events for this year.

And the dues are for beer.

 Haha, just kidding, not for beer. They are for putting toward items and events for the club, like business cards for recruiting, maybe some decals in the near future, raffle prizes for annual events, etc. The LOST Rockies CO Chapter is still pretty new, so we need to get more members to build up the treasury to start getting whatever it is we really need for the club.

Well, we don't drink during trail runs. Afterwards, we'll hit a restaurant and grab a nice brew but no dues are used. Strictly own pocket.

We will be using a lot of the funds towards LOST's Annual Moab run. We have a breakfast that we'll pay for and some raffle prizes.

You might be able to catch a few of the members free during the week to help out. Some work weekends also.
