Anyone doing any trails or is anyone thinking about it? I was thinking of maybe slaughter house since it is said to be passable or maybe just heading south to rampart area and seeing what is open and accessable.

Thoughts?

If I can fix the front end Friday, I would be in for a trail.

Also depends on the snow, and the storms forcasted all this week.

Durangotang, welcome to CO, as for a trail that you could go with us, I do not have the south trail book, but also Durango is a ways down there, Do we know of any trails that are a halfway from the front range (Co Springs & Castlerock) and Durango? Guys with the book?

I don't have the book with me right now (sitting in my other car) but I think there are some trails down in the Pueblo area. I'll also check this evening some of the other websites and see what we can come up with.

I won't be able to attend any trails this weekend as I have to work.

I was thinking either slaughter house or heading down Dakan. to rampart and turning around being rampart is still closed. I want to stay somewhat close to the city as I have plans saturday night.

I'm up for doing Dakan to Hidden Valley again...good warm up trail and pretty sure we can get a stock KJ down it (if they take the easy lines). I read just a week ago that Slaughterhouse still has some snow drifts.

That sounds good to me....is there a small loop that we could do?

I am 100% down for Dakan to Hidden Valley. I will bring my camera and then if we want we can hit Wally BLVD after.

Bad news...my brother, who told me Dakan was open, got that info from Colorado4x4.org, but apparently, the person who told him that didn't know what they were talking about and Dakan is STILL CLOSED. Sorry for my misinformation  I don't know how it happened. I will be going up there real soon to do Hidden Valley and check out Dakan's gate to make sure it really is closed  Sorry for the bad news.

It wouldn't take you more than 45 minutes to get to the area we are talking about. Plus the trail can be run in about a half hour. Of course I like to take my time and get pictures of the flexy shots. You could definitely make it back by 4:00pm though (heck, you could probably run the trail 5 times and still make it back). And there are no rocks to speak of so no worries about that tranny skid.

Depends what you're looking for...off of Wolfensberger there is a Tres Margaritas, McDonalds, IHOP, Village Inn, Taco Bell. Nothing fancy, but they are all within 2 blocks of the exit.

One mile north on the Founders/Meadows exit there is a Black Eyed Pea, Red Robin, Outback, Chilis, Qdoba, Chick-Fil-A, Sonic, Le Peep, Arby's, Pancake House, Heidi's Deli, KFC/Taco Bell, Applebees, Rockyard Brewery...

I am thinking of a meeting place....I suppose we could meet off of Perry Park Blvd and Dakan right there at the entrance at 11. Would that work for everyone?

So who is in right now? Skyjump, myself, and maybe usafcop? I plan on bringing my digital camera and my video camera....also....I like to take runs slow and learn things as well as take pictures. I hate to blow through trails with no stop.

11am too early? That is a late start for the norm. Wait till you see us start meeting at 8 or 9 am up in Morrison or down in the Springs.
