Here are some pics from Bunce School road about a month ago and some recent fishing trip pics from the buena vista area. We were both fishin the Arkansas river. We mainly used lures but I thought I would give my fly pole a try but it was flowing way to fast for that. All in all in was a good time, my buddy caught a few decent size rainbows and a few browns. :D

DANG!!! I'm heading up to Taryall. How close to the spillway were you and what do you hook that beast on? I really need to take some time off for myself and get a new fly rod. How long are you going to be in the area? Taryall is not far from China Wall, which is a fun little trail, and about 1-1.5 hours away from me.

Oh yah been to Taryall many times. If you like fly flishing you should try the dream stream if you havent already. It is the outlet of the dam of Spinney mountain resevoir. Its great fly fishing. Its only about a hour and a half away near Eleven Mile resevoir.

Hah! After the stories you told of your childhood, I'm surprised you don't use Acetylene bombs to catch fish.

yeah i know its no beast but it is a nice size trout. i caught him on a rainbow colored roostertail. now you say try catching salmon and sturgeon... been there and done that. i lived in northern cali for 4 years. plenty of salmon and sturgeon... oh and good size stripper too... :D

this was a good size salmon from the shore... i dont have a boat so it was fun running up and down the river.

Image

this was back in 2001 in the same spot as the other trout. we sure did have a good trip... i caught the biggest. :D

Image

now this one was taken on the south platte near deckers back in 1999. i do love fly fishing and this was one of my better catches on a fly rod. i love the color on this one.

Image

i tried to get a "show us your catch" post going but i was the only one that posted any pics. i thought that i was the only one that fished. anyway if we could get a meet going with a good trail ride and some good fishing that would be awsome. but like i said before... i will only be out there for about two weeks... :( i miss home

What clubs do you like to go to?

Many years ago when I lived in Missouri, I used to come out and came at Deckers and fly fish the South Platte. Hooked a lot of good fish, but never landed any. Fine by me, had fun fighting them, and when they threw the hook close to the net, saved me the trouble of unhooking them. Keep us updated (make a new post), when you get back and see if some of us can hook up for some fishing. China Wall trail is about 10 miles or less from the Tarryall Reservoir, so we could do some wheeling and fishing.
