Would someone like it?

I don't have time to maintain it, nor do I have much interaction with people in the lost group to provide motivation to maintain it (sorry).

I can either not renew it or I can transfer it to someone.

Hmmmm. Is this something that is paid for by members? If so, save the cash and put dues toward gas for a trail-run sometime!

Dawson,

Since you do not know anything about the site and its history, that comment does not belong.

The site was created for ALL of LOST Rockies (New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah) not LOST Rockies-Colorado (pre Colorado organization). The only problem was that Utah and New Mexico never got off the ground nor did LOST Rockies as a whole.

The site was not paid for by any dues. Chuckles volunteered to do it, if I remember correctly.

Hence the question! My comment wasn't meant to be spiteful, just a suggestion.

What do you mean LOST Rockies never got off the ground? I'm not privilege to any information because there are never any meetings, and it seems there was a back-room discussion where my attitude was determined 'bad', and I shouldn't be invited to join the group. Funny, 'cause I've gone on more LOST Rockies activities, official or not, than any member in the last year! Shunning someone who would have been a good asset to the group because he/she doesn't fit into your personal clique isn't the way to grow your organization. This isn't directed at any one person, but the organization as a whole. I've been nothing but polite and helpful to everyone (late night coolent runs, photo shoots) and it seems I'm the last person you want in your 'group'. Yes I've stated that I would not join, but that's because the organization is so disorganized. There are no monthly runs as described to me in the beginning, and no meetings as stipulated in the by-laws. I understand everyone who is in a position of responsibility is busy, but if you're too busy to handle the role you took on, hand it to someone else.

I'm sure this will start a firestorm, but I feel it needs to be addressed if LOST Rockies is to get anywhere. LOST is a pretty powerful organization nationally, imagine what we could do with that backing locally. Of course, if no one wants me and Denise around, feel free to just say so, and we'll focus our efforts somewhere else.

Ya know .... I should probably keep my mouth shut in a public forum. Discretion is the better part of valor.

I have to disagree with most of this... (and don't take this as an attack on your views at all, not the intention)

I would gladly join LOST Rockies even though I am down here hiding in my own corner of the area. We are all here for the same thing... we like our rigs and we like the people who like our rigs .
I think the 'clubhouse' perspective isn't going to do anybody any good and I say we keep a website up there and remind everyone that views it that we all love to wheel our KJ's in the Rockies. From my perspective, the group (both Rockies and LOST as a whole) isn't disorganized... it's loosely woven  and I like it that way... I think most do.

Yopu people forget. YOU ARE IN LOST Rockies. How do you think you are posting in here. LOST Rockies is not a club, it is a region in the USA for LOST members.

LOST Rockies IS: UTAH, NEW MEXICO, and COLORADO.

LOST Rockies-Colorado is a sub category of LOST Rockies. LOST Rockies-Colorado came about due to nobody except just Troy from Utah and I think one person from New Mexico getting a little involved. With that, it didn't make sense to form an actual club from those great distances and only have one or two people from the other two states.

For those of us in the Colorado chapter, we are the ones that were active. We would put out notices for trail runs and nobody showed up. I, myself have personally PM'd people to get things going, but people have their own lives and do not want to wheel within the confines of proper off-roading (see our by-laws - which mimic all other clubs that are respectable with regards to proper off-roading).

Well I was a native of NM and only recently moved to CO. I am headed to NV soon, so I will bow out of this conversation. No need for people to get their panties in a ruffle.

Let's just get back to topic.

The website has been dead for the most part. I think it is important but it needs to be managed and updated regularly. Since LOST Rockies is not a club and was meant for all three states, it would have to be something in the way the LOST website is: have a section for all people in the three states to give the webmaster their pics from whatever is related to off-roading & information to post on the site.

Who has Webmaster skills, can maintain it, and willing to do this?

Well as long as thats OK with the resident shovel-snob, you're good to go. I think that you're a no-brainer for the gig.

keep in mind that those on the front range aren't required to own a shovel, only those that live elsewhere have to have them to prove they are worthy.
