The host was attacked (and they werent the only ones hacked that weekend). It is being worked on but no confirmed timeframe to when it will be back up. I`ll post something when I find it out.

whatever the vulnerability was, these people use scanners to scan all sites in bulk, for example the simple script states that it will look for all sites with phpbb version 2.0.10 and below and will run the script that doesn't wipe out the whole thing by just deface it.
Hopefully all of the data is still on the server, but the part that is missing is the index.php and/or index.html

I don't have any other link to ma lost website, but if you have any link to a page that goes deeper than the index, give it a try.

i hate these script kiddies. They have no talent, but just find out the latest vulnerability and take advantage of it. That's why it is important to have the latest version.

what I don't get is, did they lose the domain access?
This looks like they might have pointed the domain to somewhere else, otherwise it should be as easy as changing index to something else like "we will be back soon" or something similar, unless the hacker got a hold of domain password, but nowadays it is not as easy to just point the domain somwhere else without site admin e-mail being approved first.. (that's why you shouldn't put e-mail address on same domain as the one registered when providing system admin info to the dns)

They Hacked the forums. From the look of it the forums were setup with a portal to create the whole page. This gives the administrator an easier time with maintaining the site. The index file could be changed to somthing else such as a We will Return type thing. What the admin is probably waiting on is for the Host to reload the site from a Backup. Depending on how many sites got hit this could be a long process but without backups of the Forum Database all the info would be lost unless it comes from a host backup. I am guessing the reason the site has not been changed is because the Host asked them not to.

I have two suggestions. 1. If the host didnt ask to keep it that way without touching change the index file to a temp one. 2. point the record of the domain to http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=28 what this would do is pont directly to our section of the LOST forums. I am a gamer and have maintained websites for the guilds I play World of Warcraft with so if you need any assistence in any of this please feel free to contact me.

No response. I was looking at replacing the url. I just switched stealerships
a big move up (Benz) so I have been crazy for the last 2 weeks.
I will get on it in the next week or so.
