The good news:
It’s always nice to come home to surprises. Today I had some new toys for the Jeep delivered.

Five new black steelies. Cragar 342 D-windows, sized 16x8 with 5” of back spacing. The new MTR’s I have had for awhile. They have been in the garage waiting for the old ones to ware out and it’s about that time.

I’m thinking of mounting a set of 235-85-16 BFG all terrains on the new rims. Using them as a street tire and day to day running around. Something quieter, it would be nice to hear the rumble of my diesel again instead of the howl of tires. Then putting the Goodyears’s on my stock rims (they are already beat and scratched up). Rotating the two sets in and out for trail use.

The bad news is. My Jeep left me for dead yesterday. I tried to leave work and it wouldn’t run. It started really hard the first time I tried to turn it over. The CEL came on and stalled shortly there after. Then all I got was a click when I turned the key. The battery seemed fine. All the electrical was working. The local Jeep dealer called today said the alternator is bad. To make it worse, a new one is three days away. I guess I finally hit the wall of my electrical capability. Anyone know where I can get a larger capacity one that will work on a CRD?

Have you looked into a mean green? Or maybe the one that comes on the Renny? I know it's rated for more than the others because of the extra lights on the roof.

Give Unixxx a hollar. He sells the Mean Green that Dave mentioned. It's pricey, but I plan on one eventually.

MG Industries doesn't specifically sell an alternator for the 2.8L diesel, but they can build alternators for special applications. Let me check if they can do something for the diesel.
