I haven't been wheeling in two months. And with the weather getting better, I'm itching to get outside and have some fun. So what's the plan for April? GWNF or maybe Rausch Creek? I sympathize with Paragon, but let's not forget the other places we can go either. |

Some of the new people are looking to go GWNF. I say lets go there. The third weekend is the 21-22. I can’t go on Saturday but might be able to make Sunday. When is everyone available to go? |

I'm up for either day. If we need to do Sunday, that's fine. Just let me know far enough in advance so I can get off work. |

This might be a dumb question but what is GWNF? and where is it located? |

GWNF = George Washington National Forest. It's located west of Harrisonburg, VA. Most if not all of the forest is on Shenandoah Mountain. It offers a scenic drive, not very difficult obstacles. We are talking fire trails here. Mostly glorified gravel roads. Light armor is all most will need. Lots of mud, especially Sawmill Creek. A great place for a first timer. Two weeks to go. By the way Jason, the picture for your new avatar, where was it taken? It looks like the top of Flagpole knob. |

No it's not Flag Pole. I was taken on top Knobly Ridge. It’s the ridge line that runs along the south shore of the Potomac River in between Cumberland, MD and Keyser, WV. The photographer is looking south towards Fort Ashby, WV I like this spot. My Grandfathers Orchard was here. The two trees behind the Jeep are Apples. From on top of that mountain you can look south down the Allegany Mountains toward the Blue Ridge. Or north over the Potomac, the Western Maryland pan handle all the way into Pennsylvania and up the Laurel Mountains. I’ll bet on a clear day you can see 150mi. Here is a full size view

So are we still on for this trip? At last check we only had myself, W3CSX, uvalax236, and sstenner definitely on board for this trip. So when and where would we be meeting? Harrisonburg Sheetz at 8am? Jason and Sharon, would you want to meet up before that since we are all coming from the Baltimore area? And just meet Richard there. If we meet prior to Harrisonburg, where would be a good place? Come on everybody, I checked and the forecast for Sunday is going to be awesome. Sunny and in the low 70's. I'll probably even drop my top for the first time. Great weather to get outside and go wheeling! |

Lets meet at 9:00am I'll need the extra hour of sleep! I'm up for a caravan. Say the rest stop on 95 just south of 32? I think Dave may not be the only one to go topless! Just a FYI. My skidplates are not in yet. I'm still comeing but will not do Dictom. We can go up South Mountain and split at the top. I'll just go back down the easy way. We will have to explore Sawmill better this time! Jason |

For the benefit of ALL involved, I shall keep my top on... but I will open the sunroof! Looks like the weather will be good! Dave and the Bronco have opted out of this trip, so it will just be me. I'll follow Jason back down the "easy" way. Are we meeting at the rest stop at 9 or at GWNF? Sharon |

I'm pretty sure he means 9 am in Harrisonburg. If we caravan, what time do you want to meet at the rest stop just south of 32? Kinda looks to me like around 6:15 ish. What do mean no skids? Rubicons don't come with any skids anymore? No wonder the 07's could be sold cheaper than the 06's. |

Yea that’s 9:00 at H-burg. 6:00-6:15 at the rest stop sounds good to. Just like TJ's they only come with gas tank and x-fer case skids. The oil pan is left hanging out just waiting for the jumping rocks. Al has a skid row engine pan ordered for me. But just like everyone else there on back order. I might see it by mid late May. I’m not counting on that. |

By the way, Jason and Richard, if you're going to drop the top, do you leave the rear windows at home or do you have some way to safely carry them with the top down. I'm trying to figure out what to do with them since it will still be chilly in the morning driving down and it will turn colder again at night for the drive home. |
