Having a hard time, thinking of taking the plunge and getting a 2006 or older unlimited wrangler. Tired of trying to find bigger and better things for the liberty. :?

As much as I enjoy the wrangler I also miss alot of things about the libby. But my vote is for the wrangler, but make sure its what you want. The liberty has so much more room, better gas milage, smoother ride etc..
But the wrangler has so much more to offer when it comes to mods.

If you are going to do it, why downsize? The aftermarket parts selection for the JK is growing rapidly.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

I feel pretty much the same way. That's one of the reasons I got my Wrangler before the new ones came out. I knew there were more mods available for it than I could ever imagine doing things to it. But the Liberty was so much better as a daily driver. Better ride and almost luxurious interior by comparison. But I too grew tired of waiting for more aftermarket options. However I was lucky enough to have both for a little while before I lost the Libby in an accident. Let us know what you finally decide. And if you go for the Wrangler, stick around anyway. We can still hang out and do trail rides together.

Im not 100 percent sure but I bet adams jeep still has some 06 rubicons on the lot. They have some good deals on the older jeeps.

They still had about 5 or six brand new TJ's on the lot last week. However I think most of them were manual trannys. I only remember for sure that one was a Rubi. It was a white Unlimited I think. Either way they will probably make you a killer deal to get rid of them (what with the orders already being taken for 08's).

you guys are right but i want a unlimited wrangler to get the extra room. it is only 1 inch shorter wheel base then the libby. the new 4 doors seem expensive, but i would have to look. i know adams has an 06 rubicon the sticker is 31555 kinda hard to make a good deal on that!!! i was looking at an 06 with 22k. i 'am going to test drive if i don't like then i guess i will keep the libby. just would like to go bigger then 2.5 lift just not sure how far trail wise you can get with 2.5?

I got my 2006 Rubicon for just over 25k and the sticker was almost 31k, if its been on the lot this long they should give you a good deal. Work them over good. We had to roll over 2k from the renny but still managed to finance a little less than sticker. Depends on how bad they want it gone. Adams also has a big sign there that says free lift kit with new wrangler purchase, don't know details but would like to know.

That's probably either a budget boost or the Rusty's 3" basic kit. Those seem to be the two cheapest ones that they sell a lot of. Not like they're going to give you a Rubicon Express or Skyjacker 4" lift for free.

I'll be honest. If i had known 5 years ago what i know now, i would have gone with the Wrangler. Back then, i knew almost nothing about Jeep. Too late to do anything about it now
