Closing the OBX Beaches

I know this isn't technically in the Mid-Atlantic, but I figure a lot of us go down to the NC beaches on vacation. They are going to close the OBX (North Carolina) beaches. They are already half-way through the process. We need action before April 4th! Submit a plea-cast, send emails, write letters, anything and everything to save this tiny bit of nature for responsible use!!

This is sad news, we have been looking forward to getting down there sometime with the jeep. Thanks for the info.

This is where I stand up. MA: Make a stand. I am! Make your voice be heard! The only way to have these issues stop coming up is for YOU to make YOUR voice be heard. Talk to everyone you know! We all know this is not right, so make a stand. Stop talking about doing something all the time and actually take that initial step forward. Make that other guy on the boards feel bad because he couldn't make it to the meeting. Lets show the tree-huggers that they are wrong. Lets prove the government that we may be the East Coast, but we WILL BE HEARD!

So, once they finish with the outer banks how long before they come to Assateague? Those areas are already closed most of the summer for the piping plover... Think I'm going to have to go find one of those stickers I saw last summer... "Piping Plover... the other white meat"

We went to Assateague Saturday afternoon, those basturds better stay away from here!

It was 40 degrees and windy as hell, there was many Jeeps with no tops and doors. I guess some people love the beach a little more than others. :wink:
