GWNF Advice

Hello all, I'm going camping in GWNF next weekend at Todd Lake. Any suggestions on some easy trails that I can do in my stock libby solo? I know, I should never wheel alone... that is why I am asking for easy stuff :-)

. Plans arent solidified yet so we may have a few others with us but nobody has a real off road vehicle... my libby, a ford explorer, and maybe an f150 will be going.. not sure yet.

The only trail I know for sure even where it is located is the one that starts by the church off of 33 and 612.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you go further out 33 towards West Virginia, climb most of the way up the mountain and there will be a turn off on the left. This is a dirt road that leads down to the other side of the lake. When you get down to the bottom of the hill on the dirt road there is a sort of gate there. If you turn left you'll have a short drive down to the lake. Otherwise continue past the gate and you will be on one of the "Forest Roads" (can't remember the number right now). This will go around and back up to the top of the mountains. When you get to the top there is a T in the road. Go right and there will a turn off a little ways up on the left. This is Flagpole Knob. A nice overlook for lunch or even a spot to pitch a tent. Or continue past the overlook and you will hit pavement again. If you go left at the junction you will end up on the "Jeep" trail that winds back down the mountain and I think it comes out near that church you speak of. I have done all of this in a stock Liberty. Mostly dirt roads with a few rocks on the "Jeep" trail. I know of a few other trails but would be best if you had a lift to do them. Wish I could join you. Have fun and report back with pictures.

Thanks chefdab, I will definitely check it out. Maybe we can schedule another weekend where we can get out there together.
