Just got back from the sand box and now at little creek, is there any 4X4 stores or custom shops in the norfolk, va beach, hampton area????? What clubs are around the area, I see a lot of stock KJs and KKs but havn't run into any modded KJs or KKs. Where is some good close wheeling at??

Welcome back from the sandbox. Check out Virginia Beach Jeepers. It is mostly KJs and XJs and a few KJs tossed in. Not a whole lot of modded KJs around here. As for shops, there is Pungo Off Road and East Coast Off Road, both in Virgina Beach.

As for wheeling there is the Outer Banks in NC, Shoe Creek and GWNF both in Virginia. Shoe Creek is about 3 hours away, GWNF is a 5 hour trip.

If you plan to make a trip to GWNF or Shoe Creek, make sure to drag Brady and Mike along! They are too used to the sand.

Welcome back Stateside! Thanks for your service over in the sandbox!

There aren't any real good close wheeling spots, unfortunately. Heck, I have to drive an hour or so just to find any mountain biking trails.

Some of the groups I've been thinking about joining...

Nomad Offroad - http://www.nomadoffroad.com/
Tidewater Fourwheelers - http://www.tidewaterfourwheelers.org/
Virginia Beach Jeeps Off-Road - http://www.meetup.com/VBJEEPS/about/?na ... his_Meetup

We are getting more and more modded KJs in the area, but we're still an oddity. It's nice to have another one cruising around! Welcome to Tidewater...err, Hampton Roads...whatever we're calling this place this week.

Hey I am over on NOB. As they said not to much to do around here, there is spots but just have to find people to find out where they are and hope that they are legal.

Way down here depending how far you want to drive you also have Rausch Creek which is about 7 hour drive up north and Uwharrie NC which is about 5 hours south.

I haven't joined any local clubs, just here and MJ which are both good clubs as you know.

Let us know when and what you are going to do about the front shock. I need to get a front passenger side cv set up and put in and will probably do it at one of the base hobby shops.

Welcome back, I get my turn in Jan to go to Kuwait.

Thanks all. . . I am running up to do some wheelin in MD near NAS Pax River this weekend the local club up there has some land, its about a 3 hour drive. As for the shock, went over to ETA Offroad, those guys weren't much help guy tried to tell me i had to buy the coil and strut assembly because they couldn't get just the strut. till i gave him the part number from skyjacker. Struts should be in next week, still not going to stop me from wheeling this weekend.
Kuwait isn't bad at all, its hot as heck but depending on what your job is you will have it pretty good in kuwait.

Yea I tried ETA for my gears and lockers and they wanted 1500 for the install, went through Production Offroad for a lot less.

Are you going to let them install the strut?

Glad to have you back stateside. I'm also at little creek. Just started modding my KJ, though time seems to be getting in the way of my progression... I'm sure I'll see you around base. I drive a black 04 sport, lifted, with a self-modded (cut up) front bumper. I also found Kuwait to be pretty nice, though I was only there a little over a month, but more than enough time to see everything I wanted to see at KNB and Camp Arifjan... Again welcome back..

Sat 27 June 0900 at Boneshakers in VA Beach.

Meet n Greet with coffee and breakfast and talk about some future runs.

Don't make me be the only Libby out there.

Nopper. Boneshakers is on General Booth and Oceana Blvd. If you go to First Colonial you will be 6 miles out of the way.

Ok, ok, ok,. Even though I no longer have my KJ, I'll try to be there in my TJ or on the bike.

Doc,

That day Boneshakers is stop for a poker run so there will be 200 to 300 motorcycles swinging in there. Knowing the management the parking lot will be off limits to cages (4 wheel vehicles).

Do you have any other suggestions? There is always the Seacrest Restaurant in Pungo. Location is 1776 Princess Anne Rd, 23456.
