I got my Frankinlift today and I took it to my father inlaw's garage and I started to install it...I remove the strut nuts in the engine bay, after that when the fun began.....I did everything to get the spring and strut out of the clevis....but it wouldn't move an inch...finally my father inlaw came out and with a big pipe and two pry bars it came out, the reason it was so hard was the strut was broken in two, crazy since it only has 30kms on my jeep. Well big pipe ratchet straps and 2 pry bars we got the new assembly together now it 3 hours + so far...only one side......ok heres the problem, how do I raise the lower control arm (with out moving the jeep off the jack stands) to attach the upper ball joint? Thanks inadvance

Jamie

Just put a floor jack under it. It will probably raise the Jeep a little...nothing you can do about that.

Yep it will...but the jack is supporting the weight so what's the difference? When you lower it the jack stands will still be there. Maybe throw the other tire on if that makes you feel better. If anything slips then there won't be far to fall.

I'll try it again in the morning. When you put your lift in did you have the same problem?

Yes, you have to get most of the weight on that one spring before it will compress enough to fit in the clevis.

put your jack underneath the lower ball joint on the a-arm, and jack that sucker up until the spring compresses and puts the jeep back down. I've done two Frankenlifts, and they both go the same way...like the poster above said, throw the other tire on if you feel safer...
