OK, So what is up with everybody telling me that OME has a 2.5" and a 3" lift for the Libby's. I have called and checked with OME and they say they only have a 1.5" lift for the Libby. Yet I see several guys who say they have a 2.5 or more on this site. Is everybody getting more out of there lift than what the manufacturer says or what?? Please HELP.

Maybe the difference is in the lift kit.
For example, I think the Frankenlift 2.5" has OME shock option in the front.
If you buy a lesser kit or are buying shocks only,
you may not be getting all the lift you thought. :(
I've also seen KJ owners talk about how over time and mileage,
there is sagging to be expected.
What might start as a 2.5" lift could end up a 2.0" or 1.5" in theory.
Whatever you end up doing, let me know.
I'm saving for a lift kit and am hoping for at least 2.5" if not 3.0".

Since the introduction of the KJ model, they have had numerous engine & spec models released, this includes quite a few different springs that come with them. Like nearly all spring manufacturers, OME would have only done the R&D on one KJ, more than likely a petrol. As the feedback & requests to the manufacturer increase over time, they start bringing out different springs. I can tell you right now that ARB (OME) are working on a newly rated coil for the CRD KJ's with Bullbars' & Winches ect, as yes, the heaviest springs on the shelf 927's cant cope.

I may have a prototype set of OME CRD springs in my KJ in the next few weeks, just waiting for feedback. They'll probably be 16.5mm machine bar.

I'll come back to this thread & post my results if/when it takes place.

NO.

The OME lift is only 1.5"-1.75"

The Frankinlift is 2.5"-3.0". It uses the OME 1.5" springs + spacers to get the extra lift.

FYI

I just got an OME System install done on my '03 last week. OME do claim 1.5" - 1.7"....however my out come was much higher. I have 3" in back and slightly over 2 1/4" in front. This is with the OME LD front, OME MD rear. I also have full skid plates but no custom bumbers or bull bars. From what I have read I should expect up to a 1/4" in drop over the life span of the springs. However that would still give me 2 3/4" rear and 2" front.

Also the ride is Great! Handles better on road (flatter through the corners...and less bouncing) and off road (stiffer springs..more clearance).

Very happy with this mod!

What makes some differance is how weak yer old springs are. My OME HD lift gave my KJ 2.5". It would probably give 1.5" to a 2002 model KJ.

really does depend on the stock springs, DC has about 12 differant spring rates & hights that they used. If it had the lightest & shortest stock springs, then 2.5"-3.0" can be seen. It is still only about 2.0" taller than the stock AVERAGE hight.

The MD rear springs will settel down more than that, might lose 0.5"-0.75" after the first year. The fronts maybe 0.25" if you don't add an ARB bumper. Should put you about level.

I was so in a hurry to put mine on that I forgot to measure before I installed mine, but I know it had to be more than 1.5 inches, of course I also did put 4 conduits in each side as well. I am a firm believer in the OMEs, love the ride (even before installing the ARB) If I had to do it over I would go the same route again!

As warblade666 states...Liberty's can come with a varriety of spings, therefore the amount of lift would depend on what your starting height was. I think my '03 was one of the lowest Libertys our here....therefore my results (3" rear, 2 1/4" front (carefully measured)) with an OME lift (Springs only) produced a significate change in ride height (we'll over the manuf claimed height of 1.5 - 1.7). OME must be very conservative with this measurement to insure that even the highest stock jeep is lifted by 1.5 - 1.7.

Well, everyone measure under their front skid and see what you see. I have right at 7.75-8in. I would like to do a bigger clevis lift but Im unsure what to do about upper balljoint contact.

I believe this will just lead to more varied results as everyone has different tires. If you want more lift from your clevis and are soooooo worried about UBC, then Pony up for Al's arms.

Pm me and Ill give you my address so you can pony up and mail me a check!!

Edit: With my 30" tires I had around 8.75-9in under the front skid. They gave me more lift than i thought they would..

At the lowest point under the front skid (Mopar) plate I have 8 1/4"...this is with 235/70 16's Revo's. Before the OME Spring install I was at 6 1/4" at the same point.

I have OME up front, and it's through Rocky Road's Rock Father II kit. It's basically a Medium Duty OME spring, OME strut, and about a 3/8" spacer that goes on top of the strut assembly. It's advertised as a 2.5" lift, and I think that's about what I got.

Well that's great to know. I just measured at my skid plate too and found that I have 6 1/4" clearance as well. So I guess OME must have used the early taller KJ's for their estimate. It looks like if I want the extra 1/4" I will have to add spacers. Thanks for everyones help

When I first installed the OME suspension, I found it gave me just about 2 1/2" lift in front, and 3" in back. In 3 years, it's settled down about 1/2 inch. The ride, however, is way better than stock!

Straight from the source (That's me....)
OME925 (Light coils) 385MM Spring height 375Lb rate
OME926 (Med Coils) 392MM 375 Rate
OME927 (Heav Coils) 394 MM w/ 400# Rate

So, you can see we don't lie. You use it the way we tell you to, you'll net about 1.5 to 2" in the front and a tad more in the back. Light = stock load, med = about 100#'s extra weight, Heavies = about 175# extra weight.

If you use a heavy without the extra weight, you'll net more height. It rides rougher than we'd like, but it works. Make sense?
