All of you with ESP,KJ and KK's, might want to start bugging AEV(American Expedition Vehicles) about making there Electronic Geometry Recalibration unit(sold with Superlifts '07+ Grand and Commander 4" lifts),it allows for tuning the ESP system for larger tires, lifts, and gear ratios as not to freak the ESP system out. They may just make one for the KK at least if enough bug them about it.

I spoke with them last fall about this. They said that the above kit won't work with the KJ, and that they have no plans to make a system for the KJ, do to there being "nearly a nonexistent market" or something very similar... :x

What is so different about the KJ that it makes it too expense to make? It would seem like little modifications would be needed.

Since it's tjkj that's saying this, I'm betting that he has spoken with one of their reps. Not sure when I could afford it, but I' definitely do it, eventually.

I be just as happy if I could figure out how to disable the ESP/BAS and the traction control permanently! Anyone know if this can be done? Could the it be disabled in the ECM?

I am under the impression that it CAN NOT be disabled. I have an '07 and the biggest PITA ihave with it is that it requires 2 rear brake lines so the computer can control the rear brakes indepentantly. The older KJ's only have one rear line and thus they are able to get braided extended lines for their lifts. I have VERY little slack in my and thus NO articulation so offroading is VERY limited until somebody makes a pair of extended lines for the ESP KJ's.

There are places like "Classic Tube" that will make custom braided line for the KJ. My problem is the darn thing codes or goes into a default mode all the time for no reason. Sometimes just sitting at a stop light! The dealership can't find anything wrong. It really not alot of use if its in a default mode all the time. There's got to be a way, maybe if the ecm where reprogrammed.

The brake lines sold by JBA are made by Classic Tube.

Unplug one of the wheel speed sensors in the front hubs.

You'll have more lights than a Christmas tree, but that's ok  You'll be almost as cool as I am in my '02 8)

only with less miles and a higher resale value

Funny they say that. I see far more people lifting kj's and taking them offroad than I do wk's and xk's. Funny how little some companies know.

Ok you just wait for your clockspring to go out too. Still got the three lights lit, and it a 50 fix at the dealer but, I kinda like having no ESP :D

Theres got to be a way, theres always a way!! Maybe a ECU and anti-lock controller from an '05? When the clockspring goes out does it kill the all the ESP/BAS and the traction control? I'll bet I can find the wires to that in the harness and make an adjustment!?!

When last checked, in May, these were not compatible with the 07's and the dual lines for the ESP equipped 06's and 07's wer "Still in Development."

So I have been there and no luck. With regard to the extender blocks, same sort of deal. The one that drops to the driverside rear brake might work. But the one that drops to the left/center near the pumpkin is not compatible. So I can lower one that way but not both. Besides I would rather extend with a good quality braided hose and keep the hard lines against the frame rails where they are better protected. Those blocks may be a good temporary fix but the do make the hard lines do things they were not designed to do and expose them a little too much for my tastes.

I emailed JBA about this because this is something I was going to do after I get lifted. The response I got back is below;

*************************

Yes, they are in production!

You have a choice 3 line or 4 line on each link below.

Thanks

Marlin Gehman

Hope that helps.

This is excellent news!

Which brake hose kit should I get for my Frankenlift II with isolators? The 2.5” lift braided kit or the 4-6” lift braided kit?

This is what I was talking about. Almost the exact email i got.

I have a GREAT local brakes ONLY shop here in Louisville, (AC Brakes on College street in dowtown Louisville, just incase anybody needs service. GREAT PEOPLE, ONLY brales and VERY reasonable)

Anyway, I took a set of factory rear lines for my 07 to the shop boss and we went through all of the catalogs of the companies who make the fittings and could not find ANYTHING that matched up with the new line that drops from the center of the vehicle to the axel near the pumpkin. That part is still too new he concluded and has not made it to the "Non Dealer Service Market."

I really trust these guys and Gary said that he could build me anything I wanted, just as soom as that "hub" shows up in his catalogs.

Said It takes as long as 3 years from the model year, sometimes for Non American made cars and trucks. But being a Toldeo made KJ it should show up fairly soon but it has been over a year and still not available.

I would imaging that Merlin is looking or his parts maker is looking at the same source books.

Anyway that gives me time to get my Super Skinks POR'ed and Hardnosed and mounted.
