Just got the reply from ARB today about spring rates.

They said the 925LD springs are the same rate as the 926MD springs, they are just 7mm (0.25") shorter.

I'm starting to lean more to the Rustys or Skyjacker front springs now.
I have already ordered the SJ rear springs to replace my rear spacers.

Don't know, dealer won't say, the rates I listed for V-6 are just est. because Jeep has like 12 differant springs for just the V-6 alone.

But I would say probably around 325-375lbs?? I really don't think they're any heavier than that, but who knows??

You're rating the OME HD's at 400 lbs/in and they sag on the CRD - so I think the stock CRD spring has to be at least 440-450 range.

They sag with a Bull Bar & winch too. They still carry the weight but just not at the rated "lift" hight.

ARB + winch = 200lbs give or take

CRD = V-6 + 200lbs give or take

OME's site even lists the 927's as fitting a stock CRD with out an ARB/winch, but only at 1.0" lift not 1.5" lift like for the V-6.

Stock CRD springs might be heavier than that, but not likely, they ride really soft stock.

warblade666,
Not really sure why you would want to go with Rustys or Skyjackers when the OMEs are an excellent spring. But then thats why there are different companies out there I guess. I researched for almost a year and ended up back where I started, with the OMEs. Best spring for the price, period. Read back through some of the earlier posts about Rustys sagging after a while. The thing that I look at is UPGRADING when I do anything to a vehicle, not keeping the same spring rate, same size etc. but upgrading to a better piece of whatever it is that I am working on. I still like the HDs with or without an ARB hanging off the front. But then I like to know that I am driving a real 4WD not a Cadillac or any of those cushy riding mall crawlers. OK I am off the soap box!!  :?

So, I asked my first question ever to the DR Z site. So far I am not impressed. Here is their response.

Dear Jacob: Thanks for contacting Dr.Z. Your message has been forwarded to us for a response regarding the front springs on your 2006 Jeep Liberty and your inquiry pertaining to the 2007 Dodge Ram. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide technical assistance for the concern you described. You may contact your local Jeep or Dodge dealership for further assistance, or you may refer to the vehicle's Service Manual. Service Manuals provide all the information technicians need to diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, service and repair Jeep and Dodge vehicles. You can visit Tech Authority for Service Manuals at http//:www.techauthority.daimlerchrysler.com or you may obtain one by calling 1-800-890-4038 or 1-800-348-4696. Our records indicate your 2006 Jeep Liberty is involved in the factory recall campaign listed below. Please contact your local authorized Jeep dealer to arrange for these repairs. The recall services are performed free of charge. Recall Campaign # F31- REPROGRAM TCM FOR AFTERMARKET SCAN TOOL Thanks again for your "Z"mail. Sincerely, Adrian Senior Staff Representative Dr.Z's Customer Action Team

They can find out that I own a Liberty (i didnt tell them), but they wont take the time to at least forward the question to someone that might be able to get me a real answer. So we still dont know the spring rate for stock CRD front springs.

My wife & I are very happy with the spring rates on the stock springs. I just want to get rid of the spacers. We don't want really stiff springs, that's why I went with the SJ rear springs. I still haven't decided on what I want to do up front. Most likely I'll go with Rustys fronts, but I'm still holding out for the Fabtech adjustables if they ever bring them from the Grand Cherokee over to the Liberty.

To each there own.

I have a 3.7lt Petrol with ARB bullbar no winch.. I have a Suburban 3 1/2" lift with the medium OME front springs, I asked for the heavys but was told they were only for the CRD as on the petrol they would spoil the ride and the flex..
No complaints yet only had them fitted for about 6 months. Big problem for me is ball joints, (waiting on the recal ones but will fit the Moogs when they start to go) I think the lift and disconnected swaybar puts more load on them than was anticipated by the manufacturer.

I found that the OME HD springs were really stiff with no weight on the front. They were so stiff, I would bottom out the suspension over small bumps or washboard. Adding the ARB Bull Bar completely changed the feel of the suspension, still stiffer than stock, but able to absorb bumps rather than pushing the front end up. If I had no plans for a bull bar or winch I would go with the LD coils in front.

This doesnt make any sense? If the springs were stiff, they would handle bumps better and not bottom out apposed to a soft spring.. :?

I think he meant that the whole front end would bounce up on a bump and the springs would not move to absorb the hit.

Think 3/4 or 1 ton truck rear suspension with no load in the back when you hit a bump. The springs don't move at all, the whole rear of the truck jumps. Add 500 to 1,000 lbs of stuff in the back and it's nice and smooth.
