Looking at the instructions, I believe you are right. I was thinking the bolts were self tappers which threaded into the pinch weld, but there are nuts listed in the parts. Judging by Moose's picture (thanks Moose) it doesn't look like you can even see the bolt heads on the 05 and 06. The 02 thru 04 models definately show though. I don't know if it is just the pictures, but the spacing of the bolts doesn't look even to me. I would think a little paint on the bolt heads would make them a lot less noticeable.

The self tappers go in the frame rails. The pinch weld bolts are 5/16 if I remember right with washers and nylock nuts. 7 each side. You'd have a real bear getting the pinchweld holes all perfect and getting them screwed into a blind threaded hole in the square tube.

I can't officially vote because there's no "other" selection. But I love my Carolina Rock Shop rockrail/sliders.

Getting the pinchweld holes lined up really isn't that bad. With some help from my "Jeeping buddy" we managed to get all of the holes but one on our first try. The one we didn't get we just bored out from the back so we didn't have to drop the rails again.

I think spoonlugger was replying to an earlier post of mine where I suggested an alternative way of attaching to the pinchweld.

Thanks for the write-in Nanette! It's a heck of a day for voting! And LOOK, we already have three votes for CRS! :-)

I’ve ordered Rick Lizards. I looked around (for a while) and they seemed to be the best one with the support and the durability; they bolting directly to the frame and you gotta love the triangulation. I got them at a good price being that they were still at the pre-order price.
