While I can't comment on off roading lights, the best lighting setup I have ever had was on my Integra Type R. I was using the Piaa Platinum 1100x driving lights. They were awesome. Around $200 including all wiring, tiny and BRIGHT. They threw a beam forever and had a great wide pattern enough to illuminate the sides of the road well enough for me to see any deer.

I got them from a local store, but his website is www.puma-access.com

Here are the 1100x's:

I don't know how they would look under a libby, but they would be killer on a roofrack bar, the only proble is that replacement bulbs were around $30.

I am seeing a lot of people with differing opinions on which lights are good or bad. If someone was going to do a poll what brands should be included?

IPF too, although I don't think many of us have them.

I have a set of PIAA 520s and I like them. They are expensive but the quality seems solid.

Don't forget to seperate the HID's from the non-HID's,standard lights don't even compare to the light thrown out by HID's(plus they use way less amps).

If you want bang for the buck do what I did. I mounted 4 Hella 500's Pencil Beam lights on the light bar/CB antenna mount I made and replaced the H3 50w bulbs with H3 100W bulbs. They light up the trail (or whatever) in quite an impressive way. See the link in my sig for details.

The four lights will run you about $150 and the bulbs around $20 for all four...so $170 in total. Pretty economical.

Even better, get you a nice set of off road lights that have standard bulbs in them and buy a HID conversion kit for around $300. That is what I'll be doing as soon as I get a bumper to mount them on.
