My wife just called to say classes at BU were cancelled and she was heading for Harvard for her evening class but the green line is down due to a electrical problem, so now she is walking home in what she described as, ................well cant print that on here!!! so sounds like all of you on the east coast are getting some of what we had over this way! If you're going to lube them, be sure to use a grease that is compatible with rubber, like a silicone based grease. Some other petrolium based greases will degrade the rubber over time.

I think it was just the front bushings. But it's really weird, I had the ball joints replaced and have to take the Jeep back tomorrow to have the busings replaced, but ever since the ball joints were replaced I don't hear the sound anymore. Do the ball joints have anything to do with the bushings?

Yikes! Ball joints making noises? They either lubed your current sway-bar bushings with plans to replace them anyways or your ball joints were in very bad shape. Good thing you got them replaced, either way.

it also happend to me but after a few days/weeks driving the noise came back so that ruled out the ball joints it is the bushings somewhere,these are the same simptumes mine has now thats why I'm eager to find out how yours made out

I'll let you know after they are replaced tomorrow. Well if you said it took a while for the noise to come back I will have to wait and see if mine does the same. I will keep you posted.

Just get a can of silicone spray from any auto supply shop, and give the front sway bar bushings a shot, then go drive over a speed bump a few times and see if it goes away. If it's like mine, it will, and you've found your problem.
