WOW, i love the design of it but if the price is going to be anywhere near the price of the one made for the ZJ ($325.00 + S&H) then my pocket book won't pay that.IMO

For just a adaptor/mount that is kind of steep. I would have to probably pass for that price also, at least for now.

It’s a fantastic design for those who don’t want or can't afford to replace the front bumper. Everyone wants, but nobody is willing to pay for what they want. No matter how good the design, if there is not enough support it will go the way of the FMR (Front Mount Receiver).

I would buy one, but I already have an FMR (NO LONGER AVAILABLE).

Just my .02,

As for the price it seem high but consider a front hitch what 200 +- and the winch $$$$$ and then you need the hitch cradle for the winch $$$ .... i mean when you put it all together its not a bad price :D

Well I should have put mine in prespective of my useage. The jeep would probably never be off road while we own the thing, unless we had to leave the highway to avoid an accident or to pull someone out of a ditch.

I guess I just live in a different world, I never could afford to spend thousands of dollars when I was young to buy a new 4x4 vehicle or even used one to just beat up in the woods or desert. I guess I could afford it now but I have neither the body for the bouncing around or the mind anymore to use (waste??) my money that way.

For what the product is it looks like a reasonable price, but it just a lot of money for the guy who is playing with his daily driver. That said if the Jeep becomes the just for bad roads/weather vehicle in the next month or two I will jump on one of these if they become available. I would rather have it then the bumper reciever tow/winch combo.

not to get off topic, but why do you have an airbox from an 02?

Yes, is'nt this a familiar site......I relate it to the old saying " You cant please everybody, so............"
I have yet to research what full blown KJ bumpers/winch bumpers go for, I'm sure it's alot more $$$, then theres
shipping $$$, and then the added weight to the rig.......

The ZJ BackBone is actually farely tricky fabrication vs. the XJ version......thus, it only makes sense that it's more
expensive.
The Liberty model is somewhere in between the XJ & ZJ, as far as labor goes, target pricing for the Liberty will be
$295.00, D-ring shackles extra.

On a side note, the cost of doing business, any business, just keeps going up......Detours is a real shop with a real
overhead, steel costs have just barely leveled off and every delivery now comes with a fuel sur-charge, I could
talk an hour on this subject, but what it all comes down to is the fact that if a 'widget' isnt profitable to build, the
'widget' goes away............

To get rid of a poorly designed intake that allows water to enter the airbox in large volumes. The CRD airbox is a direct shot from front of grill grill and head light direct into the airbox with no real deflection or blocking of water or trash entering the airbox.

progress meaning when can I sneak some money out of the "fund" and pass along to help keep this fine gentleman in business.

I am highly interested in this also.

When a winch is installed, does it block air flow into the radiator?

Can't wait to see pics with winch installed. 8) This may mean a reversal of the ARB bumper/switch idea. :)

The SuperWinch EP9000 is due in later this week. So I'll have pics up soon... From what I've seen - the Detours prototype BackBone system looks like a sweet stealth install. We can't wait to get the Libby home (it's getting expensive -fuel wise -using the 5.2L Dakota as a DD  )

That sounds reasonable to me. I think you'd sell quite a few at that price, especially if you could put together some kind of group buy.

That is too sweet. We had a bad experience w/ tow hooks on the last run we did...this seems to be the problem-solver.

I definitly want one...very nice work.

I'm interested! Any pics with the winch installed yet? Edit - Ooops - sorry! I see you don't even have it yet...
