Since you seem to have some inside connections have you tried talking to AEV about the harness they build for the conversion of the hemi into the Wranglers? They may be able to help fill in some pieces of the puzzle for you. Looks like they take an existing harness apart and add some wires, etc. to get what they need according to a documentary I saw.

well in all hope you will be able to just use a dakota or GC comp. I cant speak for anyone else here but i think that this should probably be made a stick and put in the tech section or performance section. I know if this isnt to outragiouslly expensive in the end that its going to be something that ill be more than willing to to. You should start taking as many notes and pictures as possible so that others that want to do this down the line have some base to go off of. I'm really starting to like whats going on here lately. With all of the new ideas for keeping the IFS but making it better than the crappy stock stuff, a new 6" lift, and now a possible new motor option.... things are starting to look a lot brighter. Looks like I may not be trading my rene in for a JK Rubicon Unlimeted after all.

Well, we'll see what Dan has to say next week. If he thinks it's going to cost me much more than $5,000, that SRT-8 Charger I've driven a couple times will be starting to look pretty good.
If I can get it done for under $5K plus the parts (Mind you, I already have the 4.7) then I'll get it going and let you guys know.

Actually I'll be on the look out for a wrecked '08 or '09 Grand,291HP stock compared to the 270'ish the 4.7's have now.

I'd love to see this come together. If you can put a 6.1l SRT Hemi in a JK Wrangler, this will work.

Here's a pretty good article on the 4.7 V8 if anyone wants to read it http://www.allpar.com/mopar/47.html.

You know you can buy a Haltech standalone for less than $1000 these days. An older (but still very effective) E6K usually sells for around $600.

You might think thats alot, but considering its:

Fully Programable for ANY application (except V12 and 3 Rotor)

Will gain you about possibly 50HP of tuning straight out of the box.

Tune for power, fuel economy and emissions.

I building my sports car right now and I was going to run the stock ECU, which was pretty well plug and play. But all the effort and labour, I said screw it and bought a stand-alone. Now Im laughing.

I would talk to B&G about the computer. They've been doing nice things with the 4.7 for a while now. They also make conversion PCM's for the 5.7 and 6.1 already. They made an aggressive flash for the 3.7 when KRC asked them for me. I love it. It really woke up the 3.7. They sell it on their site now. I would think they could help you out.

so whats the story here im getting desperate for information. Oh on top of the whole dificulty of a swap you also have to deal with the new legal aspects of it. The car then jumps from an 02 libby to a street custom car and has to be 100% up to whatever years standard that it was modified that much in. it doenst apply to suspension but does apply to a different engine.

so what transmission and transfer case could you use if you did perform this swap?? I have no ABS so that is one less problem. Say you had the 4.7v8, the wiring harness, and the computer..... what other components would you need to get from the donor car?? SFA is in the air too.... so suspension would not be a problem... I just need to know what exactly would make this motor work in our truck???

Thanks for the info....... I spoke with the dude from the place today, and he said I'd probably want to get the engine, harness, computer, transmission, and transfer case from a donor car... I'm starting to think I might want to see if I can get the fuel tank too.... I have some measuring to do.... I'm thinking of just piecing it together using car-part.com. I just need to know if I have to get the fuse box as well... i'm waiting for an answer on that... someone else mentioned using a small block chevy v8 to do the swap because it is common to use them when converting wranglers to V8's... Also what year (engine) do you guys think I should aim for?>>?
