Got any good pics to share? Or a report on how easy/difficult they were to install?

The install was very easy. I'd say 20 minutes if you took your time. here are some pics of how they install to give you a better idea. The hardest part was mounting them on the drivers side, its just tough to get to the screws. you'll see what i mean in the picture.

how is the outside of the guard connected to the light or metal? or is it just sitting there... i see how the inner is bolted into the bolt spots, but is the outside the same?

The out side has a hook type thing. You must take the light out as a unit, hook the back part of the tail light guard around the back of the light assembely, then put the 2 bolts in each side.

Found these on E-bay Not sure how sturdy the mounting brackets are, with the sheet metal being so thin.

Or is it really necessary to have anything? Has anyone here actually broken a tail lamp off-road (and no I don't mean by backing into something that was just a stupid mistake)?

I hadn't ever thought so before but, I wish I'd had something on them today.

...turning, leaning and moving forward slowly, suddenly heard a lovely crackly sound. Looked in the side mirror and immediately knew what had happened. :S Might have avoided it if I had stayed closer to the wall so as not to lean into it but, there's not a lot of room in that wash.

All of these "no-drill" ones seem to me like they would have just made the damage I took even worse. The only option that I've seen that might be better is an aftermarket rear bumper like the Trail Ready but after Doc's experience, I'm extremely reluctant to even go there (especially given that I also have an 05 Limited, same color, even). Does anyone know of something that might work better without as much cost, or at least without worrying that it won't work after spending hundreds of $$$?
