They do have some wild looking machines there for sure! The back spacing they use is unreal, bearing life must be almost non existant due to the stress of the tires and wheels but all in all I like it! Still the kid in me since they look like some of the models I used to build. I like their fenders , not so much the ones on the KJ but the others , basic flat metal wider fenders, still think something like that would look good on the KJs ....ok enough dreaming

Just look at this picture and its pretty obvious why they went in the direction they did.

Its just a completely different world than what we experience here in the states. Personaly I think its amazing and pretty cool to see that stuff like this exists.

Since most of the "trail" that they go on is made up of a form of water or two they have a different kind of trail rash:

In this particular trip in 2003 they went to a hut in the highland for a feast, since temperature fluctuates much up here, there was some thawing and a lot of slush on the way back as you see and it took them 48 hours to get back home! There is not necessarily a trail where they are going during winter while the drive on snow but during summer it is forbidden to leave the tracks. As this is new to at least some of you, this probably is too: "Formula offroad" which was also specific to Iceland but has also spread to some of the Scandinavian countries. You can search formula offroad in YouTube and here is a link with some videos: http://formulaoffroad.net/ and http://www.4x4offroads.com/formula-off-road.html
