Spacer vs. sussension lift is a holy war issue, like PC vs. Mac, Coke vs. Pepsi, Cub vs. Sox, etc. People are usually polarized on this issue, so take that into account. I've nver run a spacer lift, but lots of people do, and like them; some have had problems. Lots of people run suspension lifts; some of them have problems too - just different problems. I can see going with a Daystar or a RevTek kit (and I almost did until I found a used FrankenLift) if you just don't have the cash. After all, as long as you enjoy working on the KJ, you can always remove the spacer lift and post it for sale later when/if you upgade to an OME or other. Also, read up on doing a clevis lift that can be used in addition to add an extra .5" or so.

Extrememly well put.

I'm running the Daystar and so far I love it. I got it for 159.00 here: http://www.jeeperz-creeperz.com/comfort-ride-lift-p-3972.html?osCsid=1b3478c19d5ff627d3eaaf3a7d594f71 (Comes with front bumpstops and swaybar bushings)

I also picked up some Sky Jacker shocks for a 2 1/2" lift at Jegs: http://www.jegs.com/i/Skyjacker/825/H7060/10002/-1

I've only had it on for about a month but I love the new look and it rides great.

Thank you for the post 501, I was just starting to research this. With the skyjackers, did you get all 4 or just the 2 rear?

I have the Revtek 2" spacer kit and haven't had any real issues with it. I quickly put new shocks (longer) on the rear b/c the sound of them bottoming out on the speed humps here at work got old real quick.

I bought two for the rear. Also, They do not have the Daystar kit in Red anymore, only in the Black.

I ran the RRO 2.125" combo lift for quite a number of yrs. with no problems resulting from it. Sagging front springs have aways been my problem until I recently put on the OME 790's up front.

I say do what you feel comfortable with
no the ups and downs of each so you under stand what you are in for
know that spacers are like a Bandaid on a broken arm

The reason I say this is simple springs ,struts, and shocks ,like breaks, wear out over time
some much faster than others

It looks like you are running OE springs ,struts, and shocks on an '03 if so then I would bet dollars to dimes that they are all bad I only got about 36K out of the OE junk all around ,some get 60K + out of theirs, depends on where and how you drive
we drive 95% city streets in New Orleans LA so the roads SUCK and then every now and then we wheel the KJ
It now has OME springs and shocks with Ranch struts for going on 20K and still holding strong

Now as far as "spring sag" bottom line Rustys springs sag
nolakj has them on his rig and at first he cleared 30x9.5's on soft 8's no problem now they rub bad on road
we run 245/75 MTR's ,a full inch taller, and have less rub

just some food for thought

Actually, for your argument, it's only .5" "taller"

The overall diameter is 1" larger, but half of it is up top and half of it is at the bottom..

No, they are 1" taller, but the effective lift is onlt .5" You are both right.

It is not my reasoning. More people have had problems with their spacer lifts than not it seams. Just read the posts on here.

That is why I did the suspension lift. Reading the horor stories on her about spacer lifts going bad and costing more money and doing more damage in the long run. A suspension lift might cost more, but the lack of constant maintanance and issues makes it well worth it to me.

I understand that. I think the problem comes when people get a OTT lift which destroys everything. Just gotta know what can hurt the suspension and what cant.

Of course a full suspension lift will always be better. :)

i used a 3" spacer in my front strusts and 3" spring tec springs + procomp shocks on the back . i highly recomend these springs for the back as for the spacer between the shackle and the strut many clearence issues arose from that not a great idea for the front . i think the daystar spacer would be the better way to go
