Nope no hanger on the end.

Above are the pics of my new muffler going on when I do my SFA swap,it's a MagnaFlow Ultra Flow race muffler. The body is only 4" round and 12" long, and from the second pic pretty un-restrictive.Can't wait to get it on,cost me $68 from Summit but I needed a ultra compact muffler since room is going to be a premium with all the mounts for the control arms.

My $20 muffler is looking better than your Flowmaster,I've had mine on for over a year now, went through a winter and many trail runs and is still looking good.

Right after I put it on....

Will it rust? Yes it will but being aluminized steel it will take a long time, heck even stainless steel will rust.I replaced my high dollar Borla system with the Thrush muffler due to crushing the Borla muffler on the trail, now with the Thrush it just kinda slides over stuff,it has taken a few good hits but no damage, yet.

I kinda like the fact that it is short and does not hang too low. That is one thing that bugs me with the Borla. Well, that and the fact the the one tube that goes to the drivers side is so close to the gas tank. I do like the sound though, not too loud and not too quiet.

TJKJ how loud is yours like it is and do you have any issues with it?

As stated before it sounds identical to the FlowMaster series 40,and super 44.No issues with it at all,it bangs nicely of rocks 8) .

I liked the Borla setup, nice a mellow at idle but got a little louder as the rpm's increased,to bad that huge muffler was such a good target for rocks, crushed mine from the 8" or so thick to 2",but the tips where in perfect shape!

Mine is coverd in mud, thats all. Not rust or anything. I just haven't or don't spray it down when I wash my jeep. Maybe I'll give it a good spraying and take a pic to show what it really looks like.

I would say either record it with a cell phone and make it into an mp3 or record it with a video camera and host it on you tube!

what size is the inlet on a kj need to get a new muffler at full flex the driveshaft rubs on the edge of the muffler. I like the not using the tip idea and just clap it on is there any bads to this? I want to avoid a muffler shop and just clap on.

and i bought one for the jeep

Sounds awesome great sound only draw back is it will make you want a standard transmission
added advantage is the size very compact and sits up under the jeep really well
no scrub issue here
Also this was a direct fit I cut off the factory muffler and slipped this one one welded the ends and bob's your uncle
I was good

If you do it my sytle you need the turn down at the end, unless you like replacing your gas tank often when that exhaust melts a hole through it,skid or not it will melt a hole in it.I installed mine myself, just need a hacksaw(or sawzall),15mm wrench,9/16" wrench, the muffler, turndown, and two 2 1/2" clamps and takes about 30 min to do.Just hack off the pipe right in front of the muffler, and keep the small piece that unbolts from the cat. Then remove the rest of the exhuast, slide the saved little piece into the new muffler and clamp with exhaust clamp(2 1/2"),put turndown on the other end of the muffler and clamp it down and the final step is to bolt it back up.

tjkj2002 i just looked back and saw that i am running almost the same muffler i went with the longer one as a direct replacement no extra pipe needed
and the sound is awesome........but changing the muffler will give you a drowning noise unless you
make the exhaust exit the rear my magnaflow was good but oh so much better with a tip to shot out the back

And i LOVE the kackle this muffler gives the jeep

I can't wait to hear the new magnaflow. I have a aeroturbine 2525 my only complaint is it's 6 inch diameter, however I have not hit it yet. Kinda loud around 1500 rpm though even with the exit out the back at stock location.
