No matter what option your going with your gonna get the same thing, your rig lifted 2.5". How much are you willing to pay for 2.5"?

wow, I guess thats one way to look at it. but it is still more than $150 b/c you have to replace your rear shocks and you need bump stops and its a spacer so it will ride like crap and not last. so its really more than how much are you willing to pay for 2.5"

Nope as i see it it is all about how much money do you want to throw away to get 2.5" of lift. You can gold plate the UCA's and springs if you want, put diamonds in the bumb stops but your still only getting 2.5" of lift.

Rear shocks are not required. Just suggested.

How do you figure a spacer kit is going to make it "ride like crap"? Stock springs with same rate, stock shocks unless you change them to new ones, in that case it will ride better. The only way it could ride bad is if you blow the stock struts/shocks.

I thought there was an issue w/ front spacers blowing out shocks, or otherwise damaging them? Or at least they aren't showing the longevity of spring lifts...

here we go again

Rear shocks are not required only suggested???????????
The stock shocks are not long enough if you lift it two inches!
A spacer lift compresses the spring so it will not ride the same as stock, also if you have over 30,000/40,000 miles then the shocks and springs are shot anyways  even if you do replace the front shocks you still have stock sagging front springs.

I think someone needs a hammer

Someone needs to do a little more research on the different types of lifts and why longer shocks are necessary and not optional, unless you like a bad ride and replacing them often.Terms like "pre-loading" and "stacking" ,"coil lift" and "spacer lift"(AKA budget boost) should researched and read very carefully. There is vast difference between a $150 Daystar BB lift compared to a properly setup Frankinlift, the difference is so great they shouldn't even be compared to each other.Oh and I guess "ride quality" should be researched also.

So what your telling me is one of the big names is poly lifts is lieing to everyone? They are purposly missleading people to install parts that will cause failures?

Also KJ Taz reused his stock rear shocks also and after a year of use they are still going strong. So again where are you guys getting this stuff?

i whole heartedly agree, the stuff the manu's website says doesn't make sense in comparason, but many users of the products here have found quite different situations it seems

So KJTaz used the stockers, if he replaced them he would notice a HUGE difference. Common sense comes into play here somewhere, oh wait thats right lots of people have none
How many years of experience are on this board and yet you continually want to challenge everything anyone says or do you just like to stir ....crap

If I didn't like to argue so much I would not even look at anything you post    but then one of my Professors stated that I would argue just for the sake of a good argument, problem is there is none here

This is so much fun 8) 8) 8)

sorry ObiHann, I didnt mean to hijack your thread. Im done, Im not wanting to start anything although I think its a little too late.

But I do want to say real quick, JeepinJarhead03 ask anyone that has had a daystar BB and then upgraded to OME, there is a HUGE difference in ride and handling. And if you dont replace your shocks with the Daystar BB then why not spend the extra $60 and buy OME coils and leave the OEM shocks???

okay Im done now ObiHann, sorry again. :(

I think ObiHann has seen the light, he reads, understands and used the information to make a wise choice in a lift, like lots of others have done over the years.

Congrats ObiHann can't wait till you get it on !!

go figure...a manufacturer that actually markets their product. Do you think they'd sell much if they told you differently?

disclaimer...I have absolutely no idea about any of these products

lol JSC

I'm the type that personally replaces everything relevently attached that's wearable or failable, I really dislike having to tear something back apart that I just put together because I decided to be a penny pincher

that doesn't mean i intentionally waste money, I do my best to see to it that what money I spend is efficient and for the best performance and product that I can combine together to get what I want

i try to do my best to listen to everyones point even if I don't initially agree with it, but after awhile it's concensus rule in favor of people who have more experience with the vehicle and product that i've yet to install and test myself

Here's how you guys see it

2.5" lift $650 US
2.5" lift $800+ US
2.5" lift $1000 US

Here's how we see it
http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/rates/exchform.html

2.5" lift $800 CDN
2.5" lift $985 CDN
2.5" lift $1230 CDN

and as mentioned, we pay brokerage, (no duty because it's made in the USA), tax and shipping which is hefty also.

All J's just shipped mine out today VIA UPS. It should be here Feb 19. (RSX ranchos, rear bumps and OME HD) ...you see, I DO learn by reposting questions  (front bumpstops I will order in March)

Don't forget, charging brokerage is a service, which is taxable. Collecting the tax is a service, which is also taxable. Seriously! :D
Anyhow congrats Obihann on the lift! 8)

any frankenlift will make the owner very very very very happy.. just a plain OME lift will leave the owner wanting more height to equal the frankenlift (which is do-able) but still happy. and any budget boost or spacer lift will leave the owner happy.. but only because it's lifted.. then once it fails they will upgrade to a frankenlift or OME lift and be much much happier than with their budget boost. this is the pattern i've noticed from reading everything on this website everyday for the last 2-3 years.

i'm not suggesting anything.. learn it for yourself who cares  i'm just saying that's the pattern

now who has that popcorn smiley ? :D

tax return + paying off credit card (more money for savings) + 2 months of hazardous duty pay + tax free = happy me. and hopefully a lift.
