Good Guess !
Yup NSOR.
Not sure how much do do the press work need a quote...
Nothing is going to be cheap about this bushing fix. Going to do the Rancho shocks rear while I am there too. Then start saving for 2010 and re-do the front end with OME coils, struts, all the up/lower Balljoints in Moog and see if I can get the whopper of Al's A-Arm too.
And for everything else there is... my Kj... card.

Haha....pretty easy to guess. Not that many specialized 4x4 shops around here.

They do good work from what I here. A good friend of mine has had them do some work on his CJ a few times.

Yes I also have heard that they are ok but like all shops with labor rates high, you sort have to bargain and look out for those jobs that are 4 hours long when it takes 2.5 hours really.
Wish I knew where you could rent a hoist , years ago there was one in Coquitlam. Just pay them to get the bushings pressed in, and install myself.

The rear lower control arm Bushings came in today. They are made by Spicer.
The axle side bushings contain 2 slots and 2 holes left and right of the centre bolt hole. I am going to fill those in with windshield urethane and let dry for the 2 weeks before the install appointment on the 25th.
The body side are solid with no holes or slots.
I am going to the 4x4 shop in the am to discuss the possibility of having the left side LCA removed and in my hand for inspection, before anything else gets done and photograph. Since it is gassing to the left, it probably is the left side axle bushing, and if they are still in good condition with no cracks, it probably could be fixed by filling in with urethane. As long as they can guarantee me a solid fix without bending the arms, I would still go ahead and replace them all both sides. I wonder if they could do both bushings on the left and then let me take it for a quick highway spin to see if that fixes it.
What fun....wonder how this is going to turn out? Story to be continued...
By The Way here is the best parts prices even with Spicer and Ac Delco parts listed for the Jeep Kj Bushings/Control Arm Upper Etc
http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/mfr,Spicer,Suspension,7512,Coil%2BSpring
I also have sent photos and notified Energy Suspension which are about to design a line of poly bushings for KJ and other jeeps about this problem, with a request to make the axle side bushings solid without holes, slots and gaps, which currently need filling in with windshield urethane!

Finally the problem is fixed. $270 labor incl tax to press in Bushings.
Just to recall, if you took the gas off at 60mph the vehicle would move right 1.5-2 feet. Step on gas it would move left slightly.
Note that the 2 new Rear Lower Control Arm body side (closest to bumper) bushings were solid without any holes or slots and did not need any filling. I had to fill in the 2 new axle side bushings, which had slots and holes with windshield urethane, and baked them at 120 degrees twice, after cooling, and let further dry for 10 days before installing.
This differential no longer shifts slightly and the KJ is now rock solid on the highway and straight.
Thanks to all on this one.
I notified the dealer with photos and hopefully Chrysler gets the message, so others who come in with this problem, will not be told to replace the upper tri-link / balljoint and lower rear control arms etc...
I think the dealer LCA would have had the new bushings with the slots and holes that need filling in...

Good for you, I'm happy that you fixed the problem without getting ripped off by the dealer. It's more important to understand the problem than changing parts and that's part of why Chrysler is going bankrupt. All those engineering defects should be fixed to increase reliability.

Mine was doing the same thing at 60. Give her the juice and she would just about leap into the next lane right. Ease off and she would go straight.

Took her to the dealer after my local mechanic could not find a problem. Dealer had not seen anything like it.

Ended up being rear lower control arm bushing. Replaced the entire piece for around $360.

The ones you want to change are the bushings where the control arm connects to the axle. The one that connects to the body is no big deal. I have 3 control arms and started making my own bushing using urethane that I get from a pottery store (used to make mold) I use the 80 shore. I remove all the rubber, I made myself a mold and pour the mixed urethane in it. So far, so good. Everything looks pretty good after 20 000 km. If you disassemble your control arm, you will see that the steel bushing on the rear bushing is loose in the rubber bushing. Sometimes, the rubber bushing gets really worn and the steel sleeve is bobbing freely causing the yaw movement at high speed. It's too bad there's no aftermarket urethane bushings. The rubber bushings get worn pretty fast. (another bean counter cost saving)

I can't remember the parts, left or right but it was rear. Not 5K miles after the original replacement I had to send it back for the other side. Why they did not go ahead and do both is beyond me.

Does anyone have another P/N for this parts?
Another brand?

Here in Mexico all this parts are REALLY EXPENSIVE, 300% more than US.!!!

I found this from SyD brand:

LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHING 2004-2007 REAR TO AXLE N/P SYD 1406068

but for BODY TO REAR there are just N/P SYD K-3167-A, but thi is just for 02-03, I can't find the 04-07

Any help on this :(

Thanks in advance
