I don't have a winch, but want one, along with a nice bumper first. However, this is a different product you may not know about, but is built with at least as much care as Warn. However, maybe not the volume of sales.

Check it out and do some research. Serviceability is VERY important, so make sure whatever you buy, you can fix it down the road if need be.

Or a video about this years changes to the winch:

Titan is relatively new and small Canadian company that is still relatively unknown. I have the TW12 and so far i like it. It fits in the ARB well also. The solenoid is not mounted onto the winch like in the video above on mine but is relocated above the arb. I have used it about 5 times already and it hasn't let me down.

FYI. Titan winches, owned by Duncan, are not rebranded as some have suggested. They are actually made in a small factory in China with 45 workers which is located nearby to the giant factories of Superwinch and Milemarker. Duncan doesn't own the factory himself but he visits the factory 3 times a year. Duncan's winches are mostly designed by him and also with help from the head engineer, Jeo, at the factory. Duncan also provides knowledge about what works off-road, something he says the Chinese engineers otherwise lack. This is why he has put so much work into his seal technology. He also wheels and tests his winches.

Duncan's also sells a compressor winch that he recently designed himself. He told me you will start to see Smittybilt selling a version of this winch in a couple of months and that they will have a license to sell in the US but not in Canada since Titan will still have rights to the Canadian market. Smittybilt agreed to buying the winch after seeing it in a trade show last year.

Here is another interesting video from last year's model showing the internals of his winch.

I'm thinking of buying a winch to fit on an ARB bumper for the KJ and I really like the looks of the XD9000i. I know that ARB does not specifically list it as compatible with the ARB bumper, but based on the measurements it would appear to be the same size as the approved XD9000 winch. Does anyone know if the XD9000i winch work in an ARB bumper? I've e-mailed ARB, but they have not returned my e-mail yet and there's a sale on Warn winches that I don't want to miss.

I have a milemarker 12000 lb hydraulic winch on my work truck I have had very good luck with. It runs off the power steering pump and only draws 2 amps from the battery, has synthetic rope. I cannot say anything bad about it except it is heavy, probably not much more than others though. It is mounted on a front receiver type mount. hydraulic is worth looking into.

Hydraulic ones are more $ aren't they? I think they out perform for the most part, electric winches, but with so many running electric and not having issues, I for one didn't see the point in going with a hydraulic winch. I got my Superwinch off Amazon and it is a $1,400 winch (MSRP) and I got it for $663 delivered. Not sure it fits in an ARB bumper but for that price, the Superwinch EPi9.0S is a smoking deal.

For a comparison of winch performance check out this test some guys did in Moab:

We had the Warn M8000 added in Jan this year to our ARB bar.

From the reports that I have seen it is a real work horse.
