Rocktrac would be a great option.. especially for the SFA gang. dont get as much strength as the atlas but more so than a stock libby t-case.. and you still have the 4 to 1 low range.. I think that's all you really need. Our rubicon with the rocktrac 35's and a 6 speed crawls slower than you can force yourself to walk haha. not sure you'd even have to change the linkage to inside the jeep if you dont have one of those fancy t-cases with the awd (command trac maybe?). watch video below for a visual to put things in perspective. hard to tell what it really does just by reading numbers

This is me driving our rubicon with 4.10s 6 speed (same one as in my KJ) 35's and a rocktrac. in 4lo first gear. didnt touch the break or the gas. Well gas only once when bumping over a rock, same one the white rubi was stuck on at the beginning of the video, towards the end but you can hear that.
Yep the RockTrac is a great option,it's purpose built t-case with added ribbing for strength and a wider chain,it's also 1-ton rated.

99.99% don't need 4:1 low either,I can hear it now about blowing this breaking that.

Wouldn't a 4:1 help prevent breaking stuff? Less skinny pedal is needed :) Less hopping, spinning, etc.

Yes and no since it sends 4x's the torque to the axles placing 4x's the stress on the driveshafts.

How? It's just a gear change. I'm trying to learn something here :)

think about a 10 speed bicycle

lower your gear the easier it is to go up a hill, you're doing more work with less effort, smaller gear turning a bigger gear

unless you have a habit of over reving your engine, Lo is easier on your engine, but it can be harder on your drive train because if you put it in a bind it can take very little skinny pedal to break whatever you put in a bind

I on the other hand have typically broke fewer overall parts in Lo because my driving habits change

for instance with my SC i've broken 1 pinion, couple rings 2 axles disintegrated 3 whatever they were auburns and 1 diff housing and a yoke and half a dozen rear drive shafts and 1 or 2 fronts or so in lo

in 4 Hi i've broken 3 pinions 11 axles several rings 2 detroit lockers, who knows probably 50 rear driveshafts and 20 or so front drive shafts a front diff case and i want to say 4 rear diff cases, 2 4-speed trannys and 2 transfer cases

but out of the parts broken in 4 lo i'd say that all but the driveshafts broke to increased torque under bind

everything else broke to my right foot and the beast that lived within the machine, and honestly driveshafts don't count as major breaks when you can twist them like a candy wrapper

as far as time in 4wd it was probably about 40%LO 60%HI

point being, keep your friggin foot out of it and use finesse expecially in 4 lo

otherwise, if you can afford the repairs.. DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT
